I would rate this campground average or a little lower. Units are crammed in TIGHT! Just average gravel and grass sites. Restroom was okay but there were a lot of tenters there the night we stayed. WARNING: close to the RR tracks. Although trains don't blow their whistle they make plenty of noise to wake you up. Staff seemed overwhelmed... More

Stopped in on our way to Fargo. Lots if room to walk dogs. Close to Teddy Roosevelt National Park. Very convenient location. Staff is nice. What can I say - it's an RV park in the middle of nowhere it's not a fancy resort. I travel to see the sights not stay at my camper. Here you're close to to... More

OK, we are full-timers and needed an important repair on our RV. As we drove through Dickinson, we stopped at two RV repair places. The first didn't know how to do it. The second was booked solid but would call us the following week if they had a cancellation. Dejected, we continued 35 miles west to Medora and our reservation... More

We wanted to be close to the TR National Park since we got in late in the afternoon and left early the next morning. The campground is not much to look at. Sites are very close together, some tail to nose. The price was good and the extra for the cable was worth the $2. It was quiet at night... More

This was a great camping experience with some of the friendliest staff/owners possible. The ambience is true rv camping while providing great proximity to Roosevelt National Park. We loved this campground, even with the bad weather we were experiencing. It's a great place to stay and doesn't appear to be the kind of place "bad" travelers would frequent.

We're not equipped for extended boondocking so our planned 3 day visit to Theodore Roosevelt NP required a camping location with at least some hookups. Red Trail Campground is all there is. The access road is paved but the roads leading to individual sites are dirt and the sites are gravel and grass. The area is normally very windy and... More

The hosts were not pleasant, but they did provide basic information in the form of a handout. Even though we were the only tenters there, we were not allowed to select a tent site. The rest room and shower were okay, but the facility was extremely loud all night with trains and trucks, and all the locations are tiny. Our... More

Now that it's daylight, I see that most of the streets and pads are paved and level. The big plus here is that they are open late (until about 11 PM every night) so those like us who went to the Medora Musical can check in. There was nothing wrong with the level grass site that we had, complete with... More

Our campsite was surrounded by abandoned run down vehicles. Upon arrival you have to wait for staff to help you park your rv. There was one person ahead of us and we waited about 45 minutes in 90 degree weather. Not fun! I found staff to have an unprofessional appearance and be unhelpful. They don't allow you to call with... More

We just returned from a 6000 mile RV road trip out west. I had never heard of MEDORA until I planned to go to Roosevelt National Park and I sure did not know about Red Trail Campground. We saw the listing on our GPS and called for a reservation with GOOD SAM discount. This was one of our favorite stops. We... More
