The exterior of this hotel is older and keeps with the history of the hotel. The interior rooms have undergone very well done renovations. The room that we have was comfortable and very clean. The attached restaurant had very delicious food with a great wait staff.

We had two rooms across the hall from one another--both were very nice. Another reviewer had mentioned that the rooms were small in the tower section, but we thought the size of the rooms were fine. Our king size bed room was smaller though than the double queen bed room across the hall. We thought the king room was very... More

My wife and I stayed three nights at the Rough Rider in August, and we were pleased and surprised at the quality of the hotel overall. Medora is a tiny little town, and there aren't a lot of good choices for lodging to begin with. The Rough Rider is clean, modern and decorated very tastefully. Our room on the first... More

Located right in the middle of this small town. Walking distance to everything. Very clean hotel. Our room had upgraded bathroom/shower. Cute restaurant and Tavern attached to the hotel. Friendly staff. Would stay here over any of the hotels in town.

Joined another couple for a weekend in Medora. Decided to go "Whole Hog" and spared no expense. Rooms in the Historic Section, both were nicely furnished, our room was quite large, had a balcony which we could not access. AC was excellent even on a South facing room on two warm days. A little noise from the corridor came through as... More

Spent two nights here on tour and enjoyed our stay very much. The room was very nice, a good size, great bathroom with large walk-in shower and a very comfortable bed. Only negatives were rubber pillows and poor bathroom lighting. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We had a very good dinner one night in the restaurant, Theodore.

Medora is a beautiful town with a wonderful history and people. This hotel provides both. Great staff and very comfortable lodging. You are in the middle of it all and you can walk everywhere. A must see is the Medora Musical. The shopping is plentiful. So much to see and do here in the area. Perfect choice.

The rooms were a tad small for all the grand kids but the service was fantastic. The big guy at the front desk was everywhere and was able to plan our entire vacation for us at check in! He had great information about the park, the events in town and dining, and was able to sell us tickets right at... More

Well designed and comfortable room. No view, pool or laundry, but not a problem for us. Don't miss the Pitchfork Fondue, Medora Musical or the Theodore Roosevelt National Park. A great wildlife viewing experience driving the loop road with loads of bison, prairie dogs and wild horses.

We love staying at the Rough Rider Inn... it is one of our favorite hotels in North Dakota. However, even if a hotel is perfect in every other way, the hotel guest service staff can "make or break" a stay! The front desk staff that they currently have was nonchalant, cold, unsympathetic, and borderline rude - I thought maybe I... More
