This was such fun to visit! Medora is tucked away in a corner of the badlands, and is the closest we came to staying in something that felt a bit like an old-style Western town on our two month trip around the USA. The Rough Riders is an old hotel which has been often renovated and now extended. Theodore Roosevelt... More

The lobby is lovely and the restaurant is very high quality. The ceiling of the lobby is copper tin ceiling adding to the old west feeling. The rooms have velvet arm chairs. Again to look like the old west. The mini-fridge is hidden behind solid wood cabinets with wrought iron handles. The toiletries are organic. The shower is lined with... More

The Hotel is such a charming kick back to old time west, the restaurant was amazing best fine dinning in North Dakota. The room was very nice, very clean and the staff was friendly. I can't wait to go again.

This is probably the best value room we've stayed in. $40 less than the rate we booked at which was a very nice surprise, and a free breakfast that we also didn't expect! Our room was huge, bed extremely comfy and the shower was great. The hotel is really impressive when you walk in, there's a library in the lobby... More

This one of those hotels that you stay in because of the overall ambiance. Do ask for the newer, renovated wing, but the lobby is wonderful and quite impressive- somewhat like an old CCC lodge. The staff were very pleasant and the room was clean. The only dirt was on the remote control for the TV. Like a national park,... More

As a fan of Teddy Roosevelt, this hotel is wonderful. The room was perfect, including a huge shower. Our room looked out at the Badlands. Gorgeous. Breakfast was delicious. Staff is courteous and friendly. Lots of TR's memorabilia around and history about the town. Centrally located, free parking. The only issue is not their fault. Medora rolls up its collective... Stayed here last minute (that's how we travel) and were delightfully surprised! This is a very nice, AAA Four Diamond hotel and I can't say enough how pleasant everyone who worked here is. Obviously, they enjoy their "job" and take great pride in providing excellent guest service. The hotel is very quant, with very modern and super clean rooms. Usually,... More

My cousin and I did a roadtrip of MT, ND, SD and WY, and our ND portion took us to the Theodore Roosevelt National Park and Medora. We knew the population of Medora was around 112 people, so we weren't expecting much. The Rough Riders hotel blew us away! The front desk customer service was fantastic, the hotel lobby beautiful,... This is a very nice hotel located next to the National Park. The room was large and well furnished with a comfortable bed. Accommodations were plush. Bathroom was large. Restaurant served only dinner when we visited. It had a nice menu and was very nicely done. Service was attentive. Our only complaint was the breakfast, which came with the room,... More

That was our impression anyway, especially with the fabulous dining room here too (we did a separate review for it). The hotel is located conveniently downtown just a short distance from the TR national park. The friendly clerk gave us a nice AAA rate of $116 in one of the newer tower rooms. The room was clean, comfortable, and overall... More
