Other than the occassional trains that others complained about we had no problems with this lodging. I got a rate of $74.00 plus tax and was happy with the facilities. I would stay there again. Pool area was very clean as was the rest of the hotel. There was some mud on the carpet but it was constantly tracked in... more

Two words, "trains" and "expensive" describe this hotel. We paid $180 for one night to listen to 5 trains blast through town every 2 hours. Apparently they can charge this rate and stay in business but I'd suggest a better option of buying a tent for $100 and pitching it 8 feet off interstate in the ditch as a way... more

On July 26th and 27th of 2008 my boyfriend and I paid $36.00 and set up a tent for these two nights at the Medora Campground. On July 26th, Saturday evening, we attended the Pitchfork Steak Fondue, and the Medora Musical. After the musical was completed, the Amphitheathre manager gave the crowd the forecast for the area. It was to... more

This hotel is overpriced. Have been to Medora many times, this was the first and last time we will stay at this hotel. In all honesty we will stay in Dickinson and drive over for the day the next time we go to Medora (or take the camper). No fridge, noisy A/C. We understand that it is a tourist area... more

I guess at AmericInn at Medora, "Do Not Disturb" means run the vacuum in front of the door and yell at each other over the vacuum. Housekeeping is not great, the noise between rooms is reduced but with automatic slamming doors it does not matter, and the basic breakfast fare is sugar, starch, starch and sugar with low fat milk.... more

Ouch.

$187 for one night in Medora, complete with freight train horns blaring. There are only two other legit hotels in town and they are often full, so ... Aside from that, nice pool, clean, good continental breakfast. more

My wife and I spent one night here and everything about the hotel was very nice. The lobby is large, with a very nice sitting area, TV, several sofas and tables, and is decorated very nicely in a western theme. The hotel has two floors, but no elevator. Our room was a king suite and very nice. Our bed was... more

Although my husband and I stayed here in June 2005, one thing probably hasn't changed--trains at night. The train tracks are pretty close to the hotel and there must have been at least 3 or 4 trains that passed during the wee hours. The hotel was of average quality, cleanliness, and staff, but a bit overpriced. Next time my husband... more

This is the only chain hotel in town. Be forwarned that in a town of 100 the carpet gets rolled up early. There are no fast food restuarants, not grocery stores (nearest is 15 miles away), only one gas station and one bank. If you are looking for isolation this is it. As far as the hotel the architecture is... more

We booked an early June family vacation so chose the AmericInn as it was the only place with an indoor pool. It was the most expensive room in town and the pool was not available the first day due to maintenance issues but was a good size and clean when open. We had plenty to keep us busy in this... more
