The view of the magnificent badlands from the lodge is amazing (you're right there!), and the far wall of large windows captures it all. We did sit out on the deck after we arrived to take in the view, and relax after a long day of driving through the Dakotas, sipping a glass of wine (we'd brought our own bottle).... more

Eagle Ridge Lodge is a unique property on a ridge with an incredible view of the Badlands of North Dakota. Paul and JoAnn Douglas do a great job of making you feel at home and helping with any travel or tourist questions. Paul is a charmer, and JoAnn an excellent cook. Both make you feel very welcome. The rooms are... more

The Eagle Ridge Lodge is by far the best place to stay in the Medora area. The lodge is perched on the edge of valley with beautiful views. The rooms were large with plenty of room to spread out luggage. There was a wirelss connection too. Paul and Joanne were fantastic and cooked amazing meals too, if you go hungry... more

We stayed at the Eagle Ridge Lodge for a couple nights when we visited the Theodore Roosevelt National Park in nearby Medora. The Lodge is located about 7 miles from Medora although fairly easy to find. It helps to arrive in the daylight so you can find your way back if later driving in the dark as most of the... more

Hosts Joann and Paul Douglas are an amazing couple. Paul built the lodge and much of the furniture while Joann made quilts for all the beds and many wall hangings. The Lodge decks, sitting room, and dining room overlook some of the most spectacular scenery in the badlands of North Dakota. Homecooked breakfast and grilled steaks for dinner with more... more

We stayed at the lodge the night we went to the Medora Musical, which turned out to be not such a good choice because it's 7 miles away from the Musical site and we got lost on the gravel road coming home at 11 PM since there's absolutely no lighting. However, the Lodge was charming and it was fun to... more

I would never stay here again. First of all, this is a Bed and Breakfast, not a lodge. The biggest issue is that the hotel is located on a dirt road about 5 miles up. Because the property is on National Forest Property, it is not lit. At night it is impossible to find the turnoffs. You need to count... more

We stayed one night at this B&B on our honeymoon. When we made the reservation, we discussed with the inkeeper that I have a medical condition that requires my service dog, a Boston Terrior, to travel with us. There was no problem at that time. This facility is a little rough to get to, a dirt road, however the view... more

Wow - this place is perfect for cleansing your soul. A little rugged to get to, but absolutely beautiful when you do. The meals were wonderful, the owners very hospitable, and the view was great. We had the good fortune to be there during a full moon and it was phenominal to watch it rise.. I didn't want to leave! more

We had never stayed in a lodge before and loved the experience. The owners are so engaging and friendly. It was fun to have meals with others from all over the country. The rooms were beautiful (beds and quilts hand-made), the lodge itself is warm and inviting, the hostess is a wonderful cook (I would love the recipe for the... more
