Would never stay here again. First room smelled like a kennel. When we complained the front desk staff seemed put out. We were given another room which was ok. However, every few hours a train went by and we were awakened by whistle. Breakfast was fine. Rooms were old and did not feel clean. more

I made a spur of the moment trip to the Flagstaff area to visit the National Monuments located nearby. My reservation was ready when I checked in. The room was comfortable, well lit, and clean. Yes, the train goes by frequently, but I think that only adds to the charm of staying along Rt 66. They have a small selection... more

Thank you for your review. As mentioned in some of the previous responses, the train noise issue is being addressed between the City of Flagstaff, the Chamber of Commerce, the local Hotel Association, the State of Arizona and Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railroad.. Scott Grams General Manager

The room is clean, comfortable, have everything we need and the service is great. The breakfast is better than I expect based on previous Best Western experience. The only thing can be improved is the insulation of the building. Due to close to the railroad track, the night train passing is kind of noisy and woke me up. more

The front desk employee was very friendly and efficient. The room was larger than expected and very clean. The location was easy to find, and close to some good restaurants. The breakfast area was really large and one of the best from this chain of hotels that we have stayed at. Excellent checkout procedure. M Currie, Alberta Canada more

Oct 27, 2009 | Trip type: Business

For my Business trip to Flagstaff I chose the Best Western Pony Soldier inn because it is located on historic route 66 and was east to find. Flagstaff is sort of strung out and for this reason it is difficult to find many places to stay. While this Best Western Inn is a bit older, it has been maintained extremely... more

It's a Best Western. It's one of the nicer Best Westerns I have stayed at. We booked the hotel through Priceline.com. So we got a great rate. Overall the hotel is fine. The rooms are clean and quiet. The hotel still has some of the rustic charm of the Historic Route 66. When we checked in we got assigned a... more

Thank you for your review. The city of Flagstaff recently received approval from the Arizona Corporation Commission to move forward on wayside horns at the intersections which would make Flagstaff much quieter. With the wayside horns, the trains will not be required to blow thier horns up and down the tracks , which will make Flagstaff more peaceful. We are...

Oct 15, 2009 | Trip type: Family

We had the large family suite w/one bathroom, 2 queens and one king in bedroom. Microwave, frig and tow t.v's. Great swimming pool with whirlpool and free breakfast plenty of parking very easy to find off freeway. The frontdesk woman, (next time I will get her name) could not have been more helpful. She helped me change my reservation to the... more

Thank you for your comments. I am actually writing this response from the room we call the "Family Suite". This room is only bookable through the hotel's reservation staff, so the 1-800 number does not have access to sell the room. We only have one like it, so we control it so it does not get double booked. I am...
