The first thing bothering me was the low ceilings, we were on the first floor. This is an older property with older fixtures etc. The low ceilings and the frosted slider door for the bathroom just didn't sit right with me. Another stay at the Pony Soldier, one of our favorite Arizona Hotels. The kids loved to have their picture taken next to the Hourse in front. The kids also loved watching the trains. We stayed in a suite with 2-bathrooms and a seperate TV for the kids. Another big breakfast. We will definately be back to the Pony Soldier on... More

It was only one night, but the strange arrangement for the 2-bed room with a frosted sliding door between the bedroom and the bathroom made for an uncomfortable arrangement for 2 friends sharing a room. As in many hotels, the temperature control was a well-kept secret skill we never developed. Hit to hotels: provide instructions!

As motels go this was excellent. what can you expect from a motel? Clean room, clean bathroom, decent towels, good water pressure in the shower, and as good a breakfast buffet as can be expected without made to order omellete (ala BW Palm Desert, CA). Our room was on the ground level; it was adequate. We could not take a shower - the hot and cold faucets did not work. We enjoyed breakfast, they tried very hard. Front desk staff was very professional and helpful. Free WiFi was available. Location is central and convenient.

The hotel is doing minor Front Desk renovations. Arrived late but the staff (as always) are very accommodating. The bed is somehow too soft and found myself laying at the floor at 3AM to support my back.

The Pony Soldier Inn is off the freeway a couple of miles but not hard to get to. It is an older hotel and very dated but the room was clean and comfortable.
