Everything about Hotel Monte Vista is wonderful. As soon as we walked into the lobby, we felt like we had entered another era. Every staff member was extremely courteous and helpful, including the staff at the coffee/bar, "Rendezvous" (which has amazing coffee and a great atmosphere). Even after we returned on July 3rd (while waiting on our afternoon flight), they... More

Although charming, this hotel is very, very old. Room was very clean and we were happy to see an air conditioning unit inserted into our window because Flagstaff was experiencing some extreme high temperatures during our stay. Small parking lot so get there early enough to grab a spot. No in room coffee machine and no alternative was offered to... More

Went up for a concert and booked two rooms, one for us and one for the kiddos. Chose this hotel due to the downtown location. Woke up around 5:30 am to something crawling on me. I sat up and saw a little bug in the sheets. Kind of weird so I looked further. Pulled the sheets down and there were... More

We prefer historic hotels. Flagstaff has only two or maybe three historic HOTELS, the rest are 1950's MOTELS or the modern line-up of travelers hotel/motels. The Hotel Monte Vista has been our choice when seeking to be downtown for the activities OR when we are leaving on the AMTRAK which departs east-bound each day at 5:30 AM. The "Monte V"... More

And by frills I mean central air conditioning. The rooms are named after people who stayed there. Ours was named for a whiskey, Jack Daniels. It was two rooms, with a double bed each, joined by a jack and jill bathroom. It was noisy at night and the window air conditioning was barely adequate. It still was funky and fun.... More

The staff was rude and not helpful. The air conditioner was loud and woke me up in the middle of the night. The carpet was dirty and just gross. The only positive feature the hotel has going for it is the location.

Loved the room and location, however the bathroom was under par. The shower was exceptionally tiny and became a nuisance. The sink was in the room and had no where to put anything. The window unit ac was chugging along and probably would not suffice for me in the summer. They had a great bar and coffee bar. Lots of... More

Stayed here on a Thursday night on our way to the Grand Canyon. Hotel is in a perfect location for walking around to all the bars and restaurants. It's a historical hotel and had that ambiance to it. Had room 217 which was off the side street and didn't have traffic noise some complain of. Room was clean. Bathroom was... More

We stayed at this hotel one night and while it's not a five star experience, it was a fun and memorable stay. The rooms are weird but they are clean. We didn't see any ghosties - location is in the heart of historic downtown so it's in the center of things. The cafe downstairs make a GREAT cup of coffee.

This hotel was on point. Each room is named after a famous or notable person, and an employee walking by was happy to give us a brief history of ours. We stayed in 210, which is a corner room overlooking San Francisco and Aspen. Anyway it was lovely, newly renovated so it had a contemporary, chic design but maintained the... More
