The Shooting Star Inn is more of a destination than a stop-over in Flagstaff. We spent two nights here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This place has everything you could reasonably ask for in an astronomy bed & breakfast: comfortable room, fine breakfast, clear skies (usually), beautiful surrounding landscape, and a genial host who enthusiastically gives you informative sky tours on his 14-inch telescope. As the other reviews note, this is a unique opportunity to have a serious amateur guide you through the sky. Tom showed us globular clusters, binary stars and nebulae. A must see and a chance of a lifetime! Try to visit with a small moon as the stars will be even more visible. The Shooting Star Inn is a great B&B 20 miles north of Flagstaff. Tom Taylor built the house and the telescopes he uses to present guests the night sky.
