Mike and Sally Trotter offer the most amazing Alaskan experience. From comfortable cabins near a salmon stream to Ocean fishing, whale watching, hot springs, bear watching and river fly fishing to outstanding meals and Mike's one and only passion for his clients and the outdoors. I have been on a few trips to Alaska and BC but none like this.... More

Your Hosts Mike and Sally will be waiting on the dock for you to arrive on your chartered float plane arriving from Sitka. But, they won't be alone. Accompanying them will be their entire staff, from deckhand and housekeeping through Captain and Chef. They easily outnumber the guests 2 to 1. They will out guess your needs for the next... More

The staff is amazing, kind, and patient! Our first day a humpback whale came and played at the docks. It was breathtaking to be so close to such a powerful animal. The clean air helped rejuvenate me. Our cabin was so comfortable and we could watch the whale from the bed! We had successful fishing, and saw tons of wildlife.... More

What a wonderful, magical experience getaway destination! (And not just for the ultimate Alaskan fishing vacation.) Full-service staff and accommodations - they'll think of everything you might need even if you don't - and second-to-none hospitality. You're one of the family at Baranof! Excellent food, great company, world-class staff and no end to the offering of daily activities: Whale and... More

If you wish to experience the Alaska wilderness in a more than comfortable environment, this is the place. It was hard to believe that our private well-appointed cabin was surrounded by miles of wilderness that provided new adventures each day: whales breaching, bears feeding, eagles fishing...just to name a few. Everything about the experience is wonderful but their greatest asset... More

More than memorable; it's magical! A dedicated staff of trained professionals creates a larger-than- life adventure in good living. The staff is always on the alert for problems to solve, but more importantly, for service opportunities. A national-class setting; comfortable, artfully accessorized cabins; restaurant-quality food and beverage; and fabulous fishing. Sea lions and whales and bears, oh my! Looking forward... More

One of the few vacations I have been on that far exceeded my expectations. My wife and I had a great time. Mike and Sally do it right and instill the right attitude in all their fine staff. We have had the opportunity to fish in numerous places and Baranof was one of the best. The other activities were also... More

Mike and Sally Trotter have developed a five star wilderness experience. They have put together an excellent staff, wonderful accommodations, great food, and of course, outstanding salt water fishing off great boats , and fantastic fresh water fly fishing. A great way for a family, a group, or couples to experience Alaska.

Once again I was fortunate enough to spend a couple of days at Baranof Wilderness Lodge. Mike, Sally and their entire staff are in a word, great. The lodge's location is spectacular and only a short trip from Sitka. The food is fantastic, actually better than fantastic. The "Fun Board" allows guests each night to select the next days activity.... More
