Let me first say I had no REAl complaints...just took a little getting used to. I... I usually camp "primitive" but they only had 5 or 6 and none available. So did water / elec hook..water across field. not too far, but far enough. 2..bathrooms and shower up 1 heck of a hill ( glad I pack my own potty)... More

We camped here on Aug. 16, 17 and 18, 2013. This is not our first visit and we do like to camp here. It is a neat, clean campground. To call it a Resort is a bit of an overstatement. This campground recently became affiliated with KOA and the only thing that changed was the PRICE $$$. Very overpriced. The... More

My wife and I were traveling from CT through VATo Asheville, NC and decided to stop at Luray Caverns. I picked the KOA Kampground to spend the night. What a great choice! The site was clean, well-maintained, level and set in a wonderful location. The grounds were great and spacious. A large open field in the middle with nice sites... More

Stayed just one night on the way home from Gettysburg cuz we wanted to see Luray Caverns. This place recently became a KOA and it shows. RV sites are all gravel and the grounds are well maintained. They have a shady dog park that our lab loved. All sites are on top of a hill and dog park and pool... More

My husband and I visited Shenandoah National Park on Saturday & Sunday, May 5th & 6th 2013. Our plans were to hike, register at Big Meadow Campsite, set up camp, get up and hike the next day (Sunday). Well we did our hiking on Saturday then decided to travel 20 miles to Big Meadow campground, needless to say when we... More

We recently enjoyed a nice Saturday night just three miles north of Luray in the lovely Shenandoah Valley at this family-friendly RV and tent camping site. We parked our Airstream trailer at a nice large site with a lovely view of the mountains, on top of a sloping hillside of freshly mown grass. With clear, fresh smelling air and a... More

We went to Shenandoah for Columbus Day weekend and while hiking, called a bunch of campsites for availability. I spoke with a nice woman on the phone who told me they had "one tent site left," took my credit card # to reserve the spot and assured us everything was taken care of. We finished our day of hiking and... More

Quoted 35/night to tent-camp on an RV location with electric hook-up over the phone. Arrived with another couple--was told the nightly rate would now be 49/night plus $12/night extra for the other couple. Owner wanted us to pay for 2 separate camp sites. I did not argue, but owner was uncomprimising, rude, irate, and threatened to kick us out if... More

WE had to occasion to stay at the Luray RV Resort, and were very pleased. The camp ground is well located just minutes by car to the National Park. The grounds and camp sites are very clean, and well maintained. There was a place for everything, and everything was in it's place. The owners are very friendly and most accomodating.... More
