At first glance, the place seems a cute old place. It's pretty much what you would expect in such a small town like Luray. The place is out of date in technology- they didn't even have a computer at the main desk. The woman working was very friendly and helpful. Then we saw our room- it was one of the... more

My wife and I (we're in our late 20's) stayed in the Luray Caverns Motel West on a Saturday in late June. We spent the morning exploring the caverns and then checked in around 1:00PM. Check-in was quick and painless and the woman at the front desk was very friendly. There are plenty of pamphlets with information on local sights... more

We stayed at the place for a day or two while we were visitng Luray Caverns and the wildforests nearby. The price that we paid however turned out to be way more expensive than wat was told to us at the time of booking. However we arrived at an odd time of 4 am n it was kind of them... more

My fiance and I decided to plan a weekend getaway to the mountains and we found Luray Caverns Motel West. I was skeptical of the past reviews, but we threw caution to the wind and booked it. We stayed in room #1 which was close to the pool. The carpet was clean, the bedding looked very nice and new too.... more

We also read a few of the reviews here about not staying but decided to try it based upon the good reviews and we are glad that we stayed here. The staff was extemely friendly and very helpful in our stay there, we loved the area so much we decided to stay another night and explore more of the area.... more

We stayed at the Luray Caverns Motel West for three nights in June. It is an old hotel, not for everyone, which is why there are mixed reviews. But if you are looking for a rather quiet place without the hustle and bustle and a beautiful view from both the front and back then this quaint little place will do... more

The room was fine and clean. (Glad we didn't get scared away by other reviews!) Right across from the Caverns, where your breakfast of cereal, juice and coffee awaits. But the highlight of our visit to Luray was meeting the night clerk, John Waybright, who recently retired after decades of editing the local newspaper. If there's something about Luray and... more

A Motel 6 or a Super 8 have better rooms. This hotel is straight out of the 1940's. I think that was the last time the beds and pillows were updated. The staff was very friendly and willing to do what they could but this place is is not worth the $89 per night they charge. Everything from the 1970's... more

We arrived at this nice little motel alongside the highway and the girl at the desk was very friendly & helpful. She actually took the time to help us plan our trip. It was a nice change of pace. Everyone was kind to everyone and the motel was old but the view was superb. We enjoyed a nearby hike and... more

After this experience, I will never again book a room for multiple nights without showing up first and seeing what it is like. You'd think that for $90 a night, in rural America, you'll get something half-way decent? Well, think again. The building that we stayed in (one of several on the property) was awful. Being there was like living... more
