What is memorable about the Buckeye Tree Lodge is its proximity to Sequoia National Park, its beautiful views of the rocky Kaweah River off the back porch, and the provision of coffee beans and a grinder for your morning brew. The room was comfortable, but the housekeeping was indifferent. Didn't seem to have been vacuumed some days, and one afternoon... More

After reading some other reviews, we were not sure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised that our room was a small "cabin" (Hummingbird) next to one of two pools, across the street from the office. "Cabin" has a small deck overlooking the pool which was great for watching the full moon rise. It was very quiet. However, could be... More

Let me start by saying that the people who work in the office at the front desk were extremely polite and helpful. Excellent customer service! Now, as to why I am only giving this place three stars. Our cottage (really a duplex), Alta, had everything we needed. We had been backpacking and camping for several nights, so we needed a... More

This place was dark, dreary and kind of shabby. The air conditioner was so loud we couldn't hear each other without yelling. There was no way we could sleep with it on, and it was hot outside. It looks like they're cutting corners to save money, and I certainly wouldn't recommend what they've done in their endeavor. The only place... More

We had a great couple of days staying in the small cottage Hummingbird, across the road and next to the pool. Plenty big enough for two, and it was very quiet and peaceful. We loved being about to cook our own BBQ. The staff in the office were incredibly helpful, suggesting places to eat, shop and visit. The entrance to... More

Great place literally next door to the Sequoia Park entrance. Restaurant next door is a bit pricey but the food is really nice. Breathtaking views from the rooms. Humming birds darting about in the garden overlooking the river. We booked 2 nights but would like to have stayed longer. We took the hotel's recommendation to visit Anna Lang Emporium and... More

Wonderful location about as close as you can stay before entering Sequoia National Park. Very helpful staff, with tips on where to eat and which restaurants are pricey. Free wifi, which is good because there's usually no cell service. But to compensate, the lodge allows free phone calls, a nice touch. There's a breakfast put in your room each night... More

We stayed in the "Alta" room which is connected to another room in the "cabins" across the street. I've included pictures to show the huge front porch, with plenty of seating, the living area, kitchen and bedroom. This is very affordable at $115, Sunday night in September. The kitchen was fully stocked to cook if necessary. The bedroom had 2... More

We had one of the rooms in the three-plex across the street from the office. We felt right-at-home, because of the personal touch in the room and had a pleasant stay. Employees were helpful and courteous. One star off, because they wouldn't let us take some ice for our cooler. This is a pet peeve of mine. We try to... More

We stayed both in the hotel and in their cabins across the road since it was full. From outside it seems rustic, all made of wood and nice but it's really expensive and rooms are dark and rather small. It isn't that clean either! If you happen to stay in a room/cabin by the pool be ready to hear noise... More
