Although people generally stay here on their way into the park, the surroundings of this lodge could make it a destination unto itself for people who enjoy sycamore trees, chaparral plants, and a fast falling river. The room itself feels like a beige time capsule from a few decades ago and was not as clean as I would have liked.... More

We weren't expecting too much when we booked into Buckeye Tree Lodge for two nights....so we were nicely surprised when we found the rooms to be comfortable and clean, each with a little balcony so you can sit outside and enjoy the creek running by the hotel and the lovely scenery. It's only a couple of minutes drive from the... More

A nice village in the forest, several hundreds meters only from Sequoya NP entrance. The hotel includes several cabins under the trees. Our cabin was small but comfortable and clean, with private outdoor yard with fireplace. The equipment is not new but fully functionally, including kitchenette and shower (very narrow and dark). The Three rivers is a place with a... More

This is a super place just outside Sequoia National Park. The price is reasonable and breakfast is continental style left in the room. There is proper roast coffee to use in the coffee maker - a lovely touch. The view from our room was superb - mountain, river, garden. Parking is easy - just in front of our room on... More

When I go on road trips through national parks, my first preference is to stay at lodges inside the park. But because of last minute planning i sometimes end up with motels or lodges outside the park and I have come to not expect much from these places. Just a place to get some rest and move on. This week... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in Oct while visiting Sequoia. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the outlook to the river at the back of the lodge was lovely. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the birds. There are a couple of tables in the garden where you can take your breakfast basket but these are most... More

What is memorable about the Buckeye Tree Lodge is its proximity to Sequoia National Park, its beautiful views of the rocky Kaweah River off the back porch, and the provision of coffee beans and a grinder for your morning brew. The room was comfortable, but the housekeeping was indifferent. Didn't seem to have been vacuumed some days, and one afternoon... More

After reading some other reviews, we were not sure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised that our room was a small "cabin" (Hummingbird) next to one of two pools, across the street from the office. "Cabin" has a small deck overlooking the pool which was great for watching the full moon rise. It was very quiet. However, could be... More

Let me start by saying that the people who work in the office at the front desk were extremely polite and helpful. Excellent customer service! Now, as to why I am only giving this place three stars. Our cottage (really a duplex), Alta, had everything we needed. We had been backpacking and camping for several nights, so we needed a... More

This place was dark, dreary and kind of shabby. The air conditioner was so loud we couldn't hear each other without yelling. There was no way we could sleep with it on, and it was hot outside. It looks like they're cutting corners to save money, and I certainly wouldn't recommend what they've done in their endeavor. The only place... More
