As we drove past the Rio Riverhouse on our way up the mountain, I had my doubts. I reminded myself of all the wonderful reviews and remained sure with our decision. When we returned from seeing the giant Sequoia forest (words cannot describe how amazing it is), we were greeted by Mars. She is so warm and welcoming like the... More

We were part of a wedding party who took over the entire property. We stayed in the Panorama Room which has two large double beds, en suite bathroom and large kitchen/dining area on mezzanine floor. It served as the hub/congregating area for the stay and was well equipped with large fridge freezer, cooker and dishwasher. Spotlessly clean, room serviced each... More

Rio Sierra really is oen of the best options in the valley. Hamper your expectations of all as you are here to experience nature at its finest. Behind the hotel was a river which we bathed in (towels provided) and a firepit every night which we cozied up to with a glass of wine to finish the days adventure. Overall... More

We had a lovely two nights in this great place. It is quirky and stylish and the owner an staff were so helpful and welcoming. The river is right in the grounds with places to swim. There are great places to rest and relax - special mention to a hammock in a shaded spot. Nice places to eat nearby so... More

You will not find a better location in Three Rivers. When you step out the door it's about a 20 foot walk to the bank of the river. It's a very beautiful and relaxing setting. Every night they have a free smores roast on an open firepit near the river bank. The only negative is that it's not a true... More

We booked two nights at Rio Sierra and were sorry not to be there longer. The setting is beyond idyllic nestling riverside along a swift moving rapids winding their way over and around smooth boulders. It is quiet and lovely and Mars is a wonderful and thoughtful host. If you are on your way to a hiking trip in the... More

This place has extremely cosy ambiance, it is almost like you have your own cottage house by the river. We found the staff of the hotel very helpful too. Some extras offered by the hotel justify the high price - fireplace by your apartment is always awaiting you in the evening, smores are offered by welcoming hosts, a lot of... More

We (family of 4 + kid) stayed at the master suite over a weekend. Pros: Beautiful location Well thought out amenities - hammock, shaded places with chairs laid out throughout the property Friendly staff Evening fire and Smores :) Cons: We stayed at the master suite that was advertised as sleeping 4-6, but it had only 1 master bedroom and... Let's start with what we LOVED about this place. We stayed in the Panorama Room for one night 10/03/14 for my husband's birthday. 1. Great LOCATION...it's on the river! Beautiful and relaxing. It's like your own oasis, not crowded, play at your own risk! (You sign a safety waiver). 2. Close to Sequoia National Park (which is why we stayed... More

The setting is visually stunning, glacial rocks next to a tumbling river, comfy chairs for relaxing and a nightly fire for social warmth. The river lulls you to sleep and gently wakes you in the morning. Everything was provided for one's comfort. I wish breakfast was provided as part of the package. It is pricey, but worth it. Wifi included... More
