Our family just took a vacation to the Southwest and the highlight of our trip was our stay at La Fonda. This historic hotel is just gorgeous, the staff was welcoming and helpful, the breakfasts and dinner served at La Plazuela were delicious, and we all loved the shops in the lobby. We loved Santa Fe and will absolutely stay... More

This is our favorite hotel in the southwest. So love the lobby and shops. We ended up upgrading our room as our first one was very small. We upgraded to a one bedroom with fireplace and it was heavenly!!! All restaurants are fabulous also!!!

Great rooms, great style designed by Colter, very evident through every public and private room in the place. Best French bakery in the world, wonderful shops with expensive, almost priceless works of art that you can wear. You can just imagine the famous nuclear physicists showing up and meeting friends and the next day making their way to the secret... More

My wife has wanted to stay at La Fonda for some time. We finally got around to it on our trip to New Mexico in February. Am I glad we did! This place, if not unique, is certainly very different. Have you ever had the urge to take a picture of a water fountain, or a fire extinguisher cover, or... More

This was my second trip to La Fonda. Both times I have found it to be a relaxing place to stay. The rooms are wonderful, and the staff could not have been more accommodating offering lots of resources

Recently my husband and I stayed at La Fonda for two nights and I was very glad to have chosen this property. What stands out the most in my mind was the customer service....exemplary. The bellman, Daine, was so courteous and helpful upon checking into our room and made a good suggestion for dinner as well (The Shed). On checking... More

I like things simple and clean, and this hotel is neither. There is not a wall or surface in the entire building that is not adorned with some piece of Southwestern art or Santa Fe kitsch, and yet somehow it all seems to work. La Fonda has a long history in Santa Fe at the center of industry for this... More

Dear criticdesandiego, Thanks so much for your review of our historic hotel. La Fonda on the Plaza is a hotel that originally defined the Santa Fe style, in terms of both its Spanish Pueblo revival architectural design and its 90 year old history. Guests that truly enjoy La Fonda are seeking a hotel that that enables them to discover more... More

I stayed here for business, but the stay was a pleasure! The hotel staff is well trained and understands the concept of hospitality. There was a large crowd of us that arrived on a shuttle from the airport and one person on the desk at checkin. Within 2-3 minutes, 3 additional staff members arrived from different parts of the hotel... More

My friend and I took a road trip across New Mexico and ended our vacation in Santa Fe. I decided to splurge and got us a room on the Terrace level. It was definitely worth it. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, especially the two concierges we worked with, Pamela and Colby. The room was beautiful and I wish we... More

This is a beautiful hotel in a perfect location. The hotel is steeped in history, which was honored in a thoughtful renovation within the past few years. It preserved the feeling of the decor created in the late 1920s by Mary Colter, who was then the architect for the Fred Harvey Company and used local craftspeople for many finishes. I... More
