This is an aging hotel. The rooms need upgrading, the entire property needs a facelift. That said, the prices are commensurate and thus more reasonable than others nearby. The best thing aout the hotel was its proximity to the main downtown Plaza in one direction, and Canyon Road in the other direction. The room was fairly large. It was clean... More

We found ourselves in Santa Fe for 3 nights in late July while waiting to get into a rental in Abiquiu, and came across Garrett's Desert Inn. Having just looked into another property in the next block that was ridiculously expensive, we feared we might be in for a higher priced than anticipated stay. We were pleasantly surprised to find... Just back from a quick 2-night stay in Aug, 2015. Although the prices are higher in the summer compared to off-season, still a great deal compared with others in the area. You are literally two blocks from the Plaza with plenty of parking (fee for parking but comparable to the public lot) and a fantastic attached restaurant. The Santa Fe... More

We've visited annually for 10+ years. This experience takes us back to road trips of our youth. Few motels offer parking surrounded on three sides by 2 stories of housing. Location and price and value are pluses. WiFi and pool are nice amenities. Housekeeping staff is a gem.

Comfortable room and excellent value compared to hotels two blocks closer to the Plaza that wanted 350$ for a room I get in November for $130. Demand demand demand summer season is hopping. Was happy to find the room at Garrett's. I'd seen the hotel for years but never stayed here, would reconsider after this visit. Very good. Need better... More

First, the motel is in a great location for Santa Fe. You are only blocks from all of the action downtown. Rooms are clean, yet old and nothing special. If you are looking for a cheap, clean room near downtown Santa Fe, this is the place to stay. If your expectations are any higher you might be disappointed.

The rooms are spacious and well appointed. There is ample parking . The Inn is located in the old part of Santa Fe. Many many attractions are within easy walking distance. The local restaurant has terrific food. The highlight for us was the friendly and very helpful staff. HIghly recommended and a great value.

We stayed on a Tues night. It was cheaper to reserve in person that day than the reservations we made 2 weeks earlier. It's old and the furniture is outdated. There's nothing fancy about it but it's all location. We only slept there and spent our time in the plaza. We loved being able to walk to shop and eat.... More

Upon arriving in the Santa Fe plaza area, we decided we wanted to stay in the plaza area so we could walk to the shops, restaurants, etc. This was the only place in the area that we could find that had a vacancy for the night, so we took it. It was okay, but at $168 (NOT including taxes, etc),... More

The hotel has a really good location, right in the centre of the old town, just a few minutes walk from the square. The staff were welcoming and pleasant, and although our room was clean (we had a mini-suite) it was a bit dated, and could have been so much more. But we found Santa Fe was an expensive area,...
