We stay at Garrett's every time we visit Santa Fe. It isn't the Broadmoor but it is very clean and right in the center of Old Town. Walking distance to everything in the town Plaza. Parking is plentiful, which is a rare find in that part of town. All the rooms have outside entrances. It's VERY affordable. We look at... More

If you are lucky enough to go the Santa Fe for a day or two, stay at Garrett's. OK, so it hasn't been remodeled in 40 years, it's clean and close. The towels are too small, but there is a great restaurant on site and the parking is safe. You can walk to The Plaza and hundreds of stores and... More

Two pluses: location and the Santa Fe Bite being on site. Apparently this hotel/motorcourt was built in 1956? And we would venture a guess that the bathroom was original tile, tub and sink along with the bath towels being slightly larger than a kitchen towel and so worn that one could barely attempt to dry themselves. While the room appeared... More

The "hotel" is more a "motel" but it is sooooo close to the plaza. You pay for parking but it is relatively cheap. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was a bit dated but clean. The coffee in the lobby was cold and not very good which was a shame as I never like to use the in room coffee... More

I was told to book this for a one night stay as it was close to the plaza. We actually went up to the room, opened the door, looked at the bathroom and went back to the office and cancelled. The carpet was dirty, dated maroon color with wrinkles. The wall paper was peeling off of the wall and the... More

Garrett's is precisely as others here have described it; a basic motel in an outstanding location for touring in Santa Fe. It is clean and very well priced. Few amenities other than shampoo, lotion and bar soap, basic hair dryer and coffee maker. Tea is available in the lobby. Garrett's is the perfect choice for the budget minded tourist who... More

Three blocks from the plaza, 60's - I guess- dated construction, not fancy, clean, adjustment of HVAC a little inconvenient, nice size rooms, parking reasonable compared to other hotels. Service/staff OK. One of my favorite restaurants - Santa Fe Bite - used to be Bob Cat Bites has moved to the hotel. Close to everything downtown.

You will stay here strictly for the perfect location. Occasionally I like to have a Santa Fe week-end and usually stay at Garrett's. You cannot beat the price anywhere else on the Plaza. Don't expect cushy beds, down pillows and luxurious accoutrements, and you will be happy happy happy. You can walk pretty much anywhere you are most likely going... More

Unfortunately, that's the high spot of this motel. I understand from previous reviews that they are updating the rooms a few at a time. Ours apparently hadn't made it into the rotation yet. The bed was possibly the worst bed I have ever slept on. The mattress was almost U shaped, so if you like to sleep cozy in a... More

Santa Fe, New Mexico is a magical place, although somewhat overrun by tourists and those who cater to them. Still, the light, the food, the museums, the arts and crafts, all make for an enjoyable place to visit and explore, and a home base for making day trips around the countryside. The one big drawback to this popular destination is... More
