Three of us enjoyed the spa for 2 days in a row. The communal pool is very warm and relaxing especially if you go in the evening under the stars. I strongly encourage you to enjoy massage. I had a fantastic massage by Phillip, he is a master. If you have time I would also suggest that you enjoy the... More

Real- the rooms are VERY NICE Japanese design with a modern twist, clean and nice. The massage as wonderful as well. Fake- it is NOT a hot spring! They take well water and heat it, like a bath tub. The pool is nice but I found the whole experience weird. And not very "green"! Sugary- the food was EXTREMELY sugary,... More

Thank you for your nice comments about our design and massage. We pride ourselves on being real. We don't advertise ourselves as having thermal water. All water in the tubs is from a 900 foot deep natural well which we heat to 104-106 degrees F. A little-known fact is that over 50% of the hot springs and public baths in... More

Ten Thousand Waves is considered one of the 10 best spas in the USA. When you stay in one of the on site properties you receive complimentary access to the communal tub and the women's tub. The saunas and cold plunge pools are also fantastic. Don't hesitate to stay here. It's not just a stay - it's a true experience.

Having visited the spa for years, my husband and I decided to stay a night at Ten Thousand Waves to take the relaxation to the next level. We were very pleased with the entire experience. When we arrived, were given a tour of our room (the beautiful Crescent Moon). We were able to pull right up to the courtyard entrance... More

I traveled to Ten Thousand Waves for a weekend of respite, and it did not disappoint. Suigetsu was more than I could have ever imagined - complete Zen environment with all the details. This boutique property is tucked away in the mountains just minutes from the square. Beautiful trees and wildflowers. I especially loved the private courtyard! It was a... More

My wife and i stayed at this resort 15&16 September 2015. We stayed in Suigetsu room. The room was comfortable, however as all the rooms are close to a busy road there was alot of noise until about 10pm. The Spa facilities were the best part with excellant facilities. We picked a private spa room, Ichiban, this was an enclosed spa... More

A truly unique spa. Go early to enjoy the baths, public and private. The massage and facial were great compared to others. The on site restaurant served wonderful Japanese food. We sat on the balcony with a view of the mountains.

I hate giving this spa a "poor" rating, as I remember when it was "excellent". My biggest complaint about this facility is, the staff taking reservations need to be more informed. A friend of mine and I decided to get facials and scalp treatments. When we called, we told them what we wanted, and they booked us with the facials... More

Ten Thousand Waves is a Japanese style hotel/retreat a little up in the forested hills outside of Santa Fe. Each "room"--think of them really as a bunch of mini-villas--has its own character. Upon arrival and check-in, we were given a little tour of the grounds and our room. Our room had a small, enclosed courtyard and garden, bedroom / sitting... More

We celebrated our anniversary at the Ten Thousand Waves Japanese spa in Santa Fe, NM and could not have been more pleased with the facilities and staff. Everyone was courteous and helpful. The room was well appointed with a king bed and wonderful mattress, free wifi and a nice tiled bathroom with large shower. The kitchen area had coffee and... More
