I hate giving this spa a "poor" rating, as I remember when it was "excellent". My biggest complaint about this facility is, the staff taking reservations need to be more informed. A friend of mine and I decided to get facials and scalp treatments. When we called, we told them what we wanted, and they booked us with the facials... More

Ten Thousand Waves is a Japanese style hotel/retreat a little up in the forested hills outside of Santa Fe. Each "room"--think of them really as a bunch of mini-villas--has its own character. Upon arrival and check-in, we were given a little tour of the grounds and our room. Our room had a small, enclosed courtyard and garden, bedroom / sitting... More

We celebrated our anniversary at the Ten Thousand Waves Japanese spa in Santa Fe, NM and could not have been more pleased with the facilities and staff. Everyone was courteous and helpful. The room was well appointed with a king bed and wonderful mattress, free wifi and a nice tiled bathroom with large shower. The kitchen area had coffee and... More

We have been visiting the spa for a few years but stayed at the hotel for the first time. Very nice buildings with 2-3 rooms each scattered around the mountainside. That provides a nice feeling of privacy, solitude and peacefulness. We had the Blue Moon suite and an extra person and that worked out well (having separate bathroom doors helped).... More

I've been going to Ten Thousand Waves for 30 years. This is the first time I tried their accommodation. So glad I did. I had just gotten done with a full on weekend workshop and treated myself to a spa day and a night of relaxation. I will say that I was surprised to find a bit of highway noise... More

Always love staying here when we come to Santa Fe. We tried the Rising Moon Room and it does not disappoint. Always quiet, always relaxing, always a place to reenergize. We love the spa treatments and we feel like we're the only people there. Best way to wind down after a day of golf!

I've lived in Santa Fe for two years now and I've enjoyed the tubs and saunas and treatments of Ten Thousand Waves often. But this last weekend I stayed in a room here for the first time. As with everything at Ten Thousand, it was an absolute pleasure in every aspect. The room was Full Moon, just a little trail... More

Where do I begin? My birthday bash meant renting four Waves bungalows for friends from San Francisco, Atlanta, Seattle and New York—in order to create a memorable and relaxing experience in my hometown of Santa Fe. It also meant booking treatments and creating a meal at their bistro. The time we spent at the Waves was amazing—other-worldly (in the most... More

We stayed a night in Hangetsu. The room was aesthetically pleasing and minimal. The special japanese toilet with a warmed seat and special settings for cleansing was not working for us. We discovered it was not plugged in! Once that was rectified, we did enjoy it. Internet did not work for us which was frustrating. Breakfast was simple--granola, almond milk,... More

What a resort. My husband and I stayed in the Luna lodging facility and it was amazing. Very authentic Japanese hot bath feel to the resort. I definitely recommend taking advantage of the hot baths and a massage. It is DEFINITELY worth every penny spent! We will MOST DEFINITELY be returning the next time we are in Santa Fe!
