My husband and I picked Buffalo Thunder for a long weekend to celebrate my birthday in July. We decided to fly into Albuquerque and rent a car for the 90 minute drive to Buffalo Thunder. Upon arrival, we were offered an upgrade to a fireplace room, which we accepted. In hindsight, I think I would have preferred the normal room,... More

We stayed for 3 nights here, gambling at the Casino and then heading off to town. While it was out of town 9 miles, it was just wonderful to see the scenery and then turn into a veritable mecca! Green grass everywhere! We brought our boxer and they easily let her in. They even found a better room that was... More

I could not have been more surprised when I opened the room door and found it was huge. I had a king bed but I have never been in a single room this big. Even the bathroom was almost as big as some hotel rooms. Huge walk in shower plus a separate tub. The staff was really great. When the... More

Although the rooms are nice & clean the staff is horrible. We had a huge problem with security as they gave out our room key to someone without even showing ID. The person who did this even told the person our room number numerous times! We were horrified as we had our grandchildren staying with us and it could have... More

If you are looking for a very relaxing resort, this may be the place. Desert beauty every direction that you look out from the hotel. Weather was AMAZING - low 80s for the high. The pool (with cabanas available for 'too much time in the sun') was beautiful and clean. Comfortable poolside lounge chairs and pool towels provided. (I would... More

The remote location of this hotel makes it just an average setting for conventions, conferences, or casino vacations. Poor retaurant selections, limited shuttle service. Pool lacks umbrellas, making it hard to beat the heat. Don't take the kids.

We were on the fourth floor on the pool side, and the room was beautifully decorated. The balcony was wonderful with a lovely view of the pool, but a little noisy from the air conditioners on the roof. It would have been nice to have a separate adult pool because there were always a lot of kids there. The poker... More

I don't know why the reviews, while good, are not better. I have nothing negative to say about this place. The service was good. The place was clean. Nice, enjoyable pool area. FREE BOTTLED WATER at the pool and front desk - that is very nice. The restaurants in the hotel are very expensive, but that is because there is... More

Appreciated that hotel didn't make you walk through casino to get to the front desk or elevators. Biggest disappointment no kids club. It was on the web and signage in the hotel that they had one but they no longer do. They did have a nice pool and a splash pad that was for younger kids. Their buffet was value... More

This is a hotel for people who are coming for a casino trip. It is a huge hotel. Our room was really far away from the elevator. We were there two nights. We called 4 times about not having an internet connection. The clerks said they would reboot their internet extender, but apparently did not. They never called back to... More
