Pros: inexpensive, nice gardens, very nice people at the desk, old historic buildings Cons: our bath did not drain, off busy Cerrilos street about 2 miles from square, our room was down a dim walkway which was met by a placard warning card about robberies etc. Breakfast was AWFUL, styrofoam plates, small selection of unappealing cereals. last but definitely not... It is difficult to believe that this person really stayed at our inn. We have replaced all of our mattresses in the inn over the past year. We do not serve our breakfast on Styrofoam plates unless you take the breakfast items to your room. We take pride in being a founding member of the Green Hotels We serve our... More

Recommended by Foder's...What a quaint and charming hotel. Gorgeous grounds, cute clean rooms...large bathroom. Not far from Plaza on Cerrilos. The staff was very helpful and friendly and the price was very affordable. I've told all my friends!!

This motel is about 2 miles from the centre and set in spacious grounds with gardens and the motel rooms clustered around attractive courtyards. Our room was comfortable with a good sitting area with two sofas. Outside we particularly liked the chairs on the covered terrace where you could read or enjoy a drink. Breakfast was adequate, perhaps not as... More

This is such a great place to stay if you want to be close to town square and not spend a ton. It's clean and charming. The rooms have all details covered, the bed is comfortable, the complimentary breakfast is very good, and the people in attendance are welcoming and helpful. There are lots of nooks and crannies when you... More

Great old fashion service. Mother daughter and father do great breakfast. Nice hot tub. Areas of calm where I read by fountains. Owners helpful to our wedding party of our daughter. Very quaint and family friendly

This older hotel is amazingly well maintained. It is one of the few hotels I enjoyed walking around and taking pictures of. Great gardens and courtyards. A really nice outdoor hot tub. Good breakfast as well. The price was quite reasonable in September.

The El Rey is beautiful and a wonderful place to stay. The grounds are filled with flowers and the lay out gives one the impression of a private oasis. The staff has to be the most friendly and efficient in Santa Fe. The rooms are older, but are kept up immaculately. I wanted to take the large, light-filled bathroom home... More

Growing up in Santa Fe, I never needed a place to stay but the El Rey was well known for gardens and wonderful atmosphere. When I returned for my fiftieth high school reunion, I was delighted to find original real Santa Fe ambiance still here. Wonderful staff, quiet room even near Busy Cerrillos Road, every convenience in the room, good... More

My husband and I absolutely LOVED this hotel. The gardens are incredibly beautiful and it had a fabulous ambiance. We even had our room upgraded because we were on our honeymoon. The service was excellent and the view from our room was great. The beds were very comfortable and we both slept well. Breakfast was included in the price and... More

We stayed in room 60, October 16th-October 19th. The room was clean and the staff was pleasant. The hotel and grounds are quaint, and looks like what one would expect in "Santa Fe"; Southwestern style, adobe clad buildings and furnishings. However, had this hotel been in any other city in America, one would consider it old and outdated. The bathroom... More

Thank you for your review of our unit 60, one of our very popular rooms in the Spanish Colonial Courtyard. This particular courtyard was designed for our inn in order to feature all three Santa Fe architectural styles, classic Pueblo (unit 60), Territorial style, and the Spanish Colonial style. Unit 60 has a lovely seating area with bancos, custom furnishings,... More
