Second time to stay at the El Rey Inn, beautiful surroundings, very peaceful. Nice big room, beds very comfortable and the kids loved the pool. Look forward to going back. Nice places to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful flowers. Several nice restaraunts in walking distance.

Our second stay in a week. Rich in character, rooms are very clean and spacious and comfortable. So much more appealing to stay here than a cookie cutter motel. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Breakfast rooms are lovely and include outdoor settings surrounded by gardens.

My family stayed at the El Rey in June of this year. It is absolutely my kind of place. Beautiful gardens, rooms were great, staff excellent, nice pool and spas. Plan to go back and spend more time here. The rates were very economical for a place like this one.

Beautiful, friendly, clean, traditional, enthusiastic, nice, tasteful, inexpensive - everything! We looked for a hotel downtown Santa Fe but thought that 200 - 400 dollars per night was too much. At El Rey´s it was 92 per night, a little outside the center but wonderful. Has been around for many years. The owners and staff give their Inn a lot... More

I love the quiet, welcoming grounds. A stroll around the complex is filled with many photo-worthy opportunities. My favorite spot is the very private, outdoor oversize jacuzzi pool with the little kiva fireplace. I have stayed here several times over the years, and this time was a first for my husband, who said " This is the best hotel we've... More

We were traveling from Illinois to California on our Route 66 journey and stopped in Santa Fe at the El Rey. It was magnificent. The grounds were beautiful and we have described this place to friends as a 'garden with a motel in the middle.' The room was spacious, clean, and had very comfy beds. The room also had a... More

This hotel is really pleasant. Our room was clean and pretty comfortable. I have seen some negative comments on here about the breakfast which I don't get. We thought it was really good, the fruit was delicious. Maybe if you were paying $300 a night you might complain but I thought considering the price point it was great. There are... More

Like others, we found the El Rey to be a rose surrounded by many thorns on Cerrillos Rd. It is a charming, non-generic 50s built motel. The grounds are really nice, with lots of lawn, trees and shrubs and flowers. The architecture is New Mexican. Furnishings in rooms are definitely of the area, with lots of carved wood. Our room... My parents and I visited Santa Fe again and we quickly discovered hotel prices are expensive and book up quickly. Through a Trip Advisor search, we discovered El Rey Inn. Without a doubt, this hotel became a highlight of our trip. We just kept talking about how much we loved this unique, retro hotel. The original 1930s charm is evident... More

Beautiful older hotel, but LOVED being able to drive and park right in front of my room! The flowers and fountains are beautiful...the tiles and style SO true to the old Santa Fe style! The rooms were very clean and the sheets were super soft! We have two kids and they loved the pool too! The free breakfast is ADORB... More
