We really liked the hotel, but part of the decision to stay there was having breakfast included. It's one of the worst continental breakfasts I've ever seen. Cold boiled eggs, two types of plain cereal, oatmeal packets, two large bowls of yogurt and toast. It's not worst advertising as an amenity. The room itself was nice. The property looks like... Thank you for your review of our breakfast experience and we are truly sorry that our breakfast did not live up to your expectation. We try so very much to offer a unique and classy southwestern breakfast in a European/Southwestern atmosphere with two outdoor terraces to also dine on when weather permits . We play classical Ruben Romero guitar music... More

Our family stayed one night but we enjoyed and will visit again. Clean room, vintage feel, and friendly staff make it a must try for the people that do not like the cookie cutter types hotels now days.

Not knowing our way around Santa Fe, we asked our waiter Terry at the Blue Corn Cafe for recommendations on decent places to stay. He mentioned the El Rey Inn, and we loved it the moment we saw it. Check-in was easy, and our host was quite accommodating. We elected to take the suite, which included 2 bedrooms, a nice... More

I'm so glad we stayed here. My only regret is that we were only staying one night, this hotel deserves a week of you time. We rented a suite that had a king bed and full kitchen, the price was fantastic. We visited during the off season and received vouchers for $5 off at a nearby restaurant since they were... More

We booked three rooms. We love the rooms in first eye: looks comfortable, each room decorated differently with painting, tiles, different style of reading lamp and stand lamps. Like at home. The lobby is also like the living room at home. the yard is unique. The reception is exemely nice and helpful. I would like to mention that we left... More

Again, I was awed by the El Rey Inn last week. I work hard when I am in Santa Fe, and it is my solace at the end of the day. It's a darling little eclectic place where every room is different. Many have glass block windows in the bathrooms, skylights and corian counter tops. My favorite, however, is the... More

This is a classic 1930s Route 66 motel that has transitioned nicely into the 21st Century. I only wish they still had the neon sign to go with the hotel, but it is an "Inn" now. The rooms are classic, but very modern, set around great gardens and grounds. The hotel is extremely well-located on Cerrillos Road near the intersections... More

The El Rey Inn is like a time capsule. Just entering the driveway of the property is a like traveling back to the golden age of the motor courts. Images of Route 66, the "Old West" of movies and radio serials, and big cars with tail fins well up in your mind. The classic adobe architecture of the property fits... More

The El Rey looks very cool and old fashioned, and my stay here wasn't bad. It's just a little gross and funky for the price. The rooms aren't dirty, but all the furniture is very old and they use AC units in the front doors that make it very easy for bugs to get in the room. So if it's... More

We were in Santa Fe for a funeral so the last thing I wanted to deal with was a crumby hotel. El Rey was perfect for us! The beds were comfortable, room was spacious, bathroom was huge, there was a nice vanity to put on make-up, and the grounds were absolutely gorgeous. If I have to nit pick, the only... More
