We booked three rooms. We love the rooms in first eye: looks comfortable, each room decorated differently with painting, tiles, different style of reading lamp and stand lamps. Like at home. The lobby is also like the living room at home. the yard is unique. The reception is exemely nice and helpful. I would like to mention that we left... More

With great sadness and morning I have to report that new ownership is simply Cheap! We have come here for the last 15 years during new years. I have always loved the ambiance and Santa Fe feel of this Hotel UNTILL now. It starts with I prefer club. They use to give us a big bag of Santa Fe Goodies... More

Again, I was awed by the El Rey Inn last week. I work hard when I am in Santa Fe, and it is my solace at the end of the day. It's a darling little eclectic place where every room is different. Many have glass block windows in the bathrooms, skylights and corian counter tops. My favorite, however, is the... More

This is a classic 1930s Route 66 motel that has transitioned nicely into the 21st Century. I only wish they still had the neon sign to go with the hotel, but it is an "Inn" now. The rooms are classic, but very modern, set around great gardens and grounds. The hotel is extremely well-located on Cerrillos Road near the intersections... More

The El Rey Inn is like a time capsule. Just entering the driveway of the property is a like traveling back to the golden age of the motor courts. Images of Route 66, the "Old West" of movies and radio serials, and big cars with tail fins well up in your mind. The classic adobe architecture of the property fits... More

The El Rey looks very cool and old fashioned, and my stay here wasn't bad. It's just a little gross and funky for the price. The rooms aren't dirty, but all the furniture is very old and they use AC units in the front doors that make it very easy for bugs to get in the room. So if it's... More

Thank you for your review that is from your visit with us five (5) months ago. The timeliness of your review leads one to wonder how one can remember specifics of a visit last September of 2014. The review is not helpful to our organization in that there is no mention of which accommodation the reviewer stayed in or the... More

We were in Santa Fe for a funeral so the last thing I wanted to deal with was a crumby hotel. El Rey was perfect for us! The beds were comfortable, room was spacious, bathroom was huge, there was a nice vanity to put on make-up, and the grounds were absolutely gorgeous. If I have to nit pick, the only... More

we arrived when it was snowing and told to use the middle path from our car to the room, it was partly covered in snow and when we got to our door we could see that we would have been easier using the covered path to the right - why tell us that? We asked about eating with them that... More

We first stopped at the El Rey 39 years ago on our honeymoon. We'd had no occasion to be in the area over these many years until recently when our daughter moved to Az. So we were delighted to rediscover it on our way to visit over the Christmas holidays. It was even more than we remembered...old world charm, fireplace,... More

The El Rey Inn was the perfect accomodation for my first trip To Santa Fe, NM. Especially warm and inviting for a Frigid December visit. Their staff were efficient and friendly and the room was toasty warm, clean and comfortable. I appreciate all the reviewers whose posts helped me decide to stay here. Thank you!!
