If you're travelling Route 66 then this is a must if you are staying in Santa Fe. The rooms closest to the reception office date back to 1939 and have been beautifully restored to that time with the benefit of modern bathrooms. The guest lounge is really wonderful and the breakfast room bright and sunny. Breakfast itself was good -... More

While traveling our mother had to go to the hospital found this very quaint motel on the national historic register. Our room was one of the original rooms built in 1936. People are very friendly and breakfast was adequate. Make a point to walk to the Pantry restaurant on the corner great food!

More than we expected. Charming 1940's motor court with very clean rooms, gardens and spacious grounds. Very comfortable. The lobby and breakfast room are so authentically southwest. The continental breakfast was fine (good coffee, fresh fruit, tortillas, cereals & yogurt). Will definitely return!

We stayed here for three nights, in the middle of our roadtrip through AZ and NM. I have to say that I loved this place! The inn's layout is quite unique from the cookie cutter box cutouts you'll see in other lodging. They have a lovely courtyard to lounge around in and walk through. They even have a small playground... More

El Rey is one of our favorite places to stay. We stay here whenever we come to Santa Fe. El Rey is a wonderful, peaceful setting. If you stay here, take some time to just sit with a cup of coffee or tea in the old courtyard among the trees, roses and hibiscus. It will be a highlight of your... More

We really liked the hotel, but part of the decision to stay there was having breakfast included. It's one of the worst continental breakfasts I've ever seen. Cold boiled eggs, two types of plain cereal, oatmeal packets, two large bowls of yogurt and toast. It's not worst advertising as an amenity. The room itself was nice. The property looks like... Thank you for your review of our breakfast experience and we are truly sorry that our breakfast did not live up to your expectation. We try so very much to offer a unique and classy southwestern breakfast in a European/Southwestern atmosphere with two outdoor terraces to also dine on when weather permits . We play classical Ruben Romero guitar music... More

Our family stayed one night but we enjoyed and will visit again. Clean room, vintage feel, and friendly staff make it a must try for the people that do not like the cookie cutter types hotels now days.

Not knowing our way around Santa Fe, we asked our waiter Terry at the Blue Corn Cafe for recommendations on decent places to stay. He mentioned the El Rey Inn, and we loved it the moment we saw it. Check-in was easy, and our host was quite accommodating. We elected to take the suite, which included 2 bedrooms, a nice... More

I'm so glad we stayed here. My only regret is that we were only staying one night, this hotel deserves a week of you time. We rented a suite that had a king bed and full kitchen, the price was fantastic. We visited during the off season and received vouchers for $5 off at a nearby restaurant since they were... More

We booked three rooms. We love the rooms in first eye: looks comfortable, each room decorated differently with painting, tiles, different style of reading lamp and stand lamps. Like at home. The lobby is also like the living room at home. the yard is unique. The reception is exemely nice and helpful. I would like to mention that we left... More
