Wayfarer's Rest was recommended for our stay on Friday Harbor...and it was perfect for us. The location is terrific , within walking distance of town, and very safe location. The "house" was extremely clean, spacious, and just felt immediately wonderful as we walked in. The shared bathroom idea to us was our biggest concern and usually a deal breaker..The bathrooms... We stayed in a private room which was clean and perfect for the 3 of us. The bathroom was right outside the bedroom. It was clean, but there was a lot of noise during the night from others using it. Staying in another room might be better for light sleepers. The price was right for our one night stay. The... More

We decided to take a break from the hotels and visited this hostel with our three small kids to explore friday harbour! A quaint little town and a charming guest house made for a memorable stay! Clean and quiet we were pretty much the only ones there with a few other single travellers! A great budget and family friendly guest... More

In the middle of this uber busy holiday, I was happy to find (and I did indeed book VERY early in the year) a very reasonable (39 bucks) place to stay in the busy busy busy Friday Harbor for my time to visit during the busiest time of the year. Friday Harbor explodes during July 4th and Wayfarer's Rest is... More

We booked out the full dorm room at Wayfarer's -- 6 beds for my family of four, but we didn't want random strangers in there with us. The spaces were quite tight and the place was off the beaten path in a sort of odd, industrial neighborhood. The communal spaces felt pretty warm and inviting, but since we were just... More

Everything was great. The price was way less than any hotel on the island. It was a last minute decision to take a trip to Friday Harbor so the various hotels were either extremely expensive or not available. We had two rooms. We had family from out of town visiting so we booked the suite as well as private room... More

I recently stayed at Wayfarers Rest for 12 nights as I wanted to spend quality time on San Juan Island , I am normally a camper in the UK and decided I didn't fancy glamping! I researched the internet and found Wayfarers and it looked homely and suited my budget. I did opt for my own room which made the... More

I have to admit, when I first heard the word "hostel", I was hesitant. However, the recommendation for this place came from a trusted friend who lives and works on the island. I gave it a go...and don't regret it one bit! My mother and I stayed here for 5 days and 4 nights for our mother/daughter trip. We had... More

When I first started doing research for our trip to Friday Harbor to go whale watching, I was disgusted at the rates some of the hotels in the area charge just for a one night stay. Wayfarer's Rest was a big relief and a perfect solution for a budget-minded couple who still wanted a clean and friendly place to stay.... More

I stayed with my family in this adorable cabin in Friday harbor. Rooms were very clean and nicely decorated! Cheap rates and was an absolute pleasure! :) they also run a great breakfast and coffee house and hooked me up with free yummy dark roast coffee every morning. I will be back!
