The Menger Hotel is ideally located for seeing the sites of San Antonio, just steps away from the Riverwalk, the Alamo and the Rivercenter Mall. I was in town for a conference and the hotel proved to be ideal for our group with plenty of room for break out sessions. The Menger Hotel has managed to preserve this historic site... More

This hotel has a great history and some charm, but it needs a serious upgrade to be considered a great hotel by any measures. The proximity to the Alamo is their salvage, but if you expect more than proximity to a landmark and history; then the Menger is not the hotel for you.

Head to the Menger bar and ask for Angela. A great bartender with excellent knowledge of the historical aspect of the bar as well as excellent service and a friendly attitude. This is definitely the highlight of a great stay.

This hotel is BEAUTIFUL and full of history. I can say it was haunted because that night I stayed, at night the tv turned on and after I turned it off I heard bangs on wall. I also could not sleep well, I know it wasn't the bed because it was comfortable, but I felt weird and I kept on... More

Its just too old for me. You can renovate the rooms while preserving the history of the Menger. Our room was extremely outdated. Valet service also needs serious improvement. it seemed to have no organization at all. I just didn't feel like I was getting what I paid for.

We love to go to the Menger Hotel for family fun. It is beautiful and charming and full of history. You can go to the bar where Teddy Roosevelt assembled his rough riders, you can stay in rooms where Presidents have slept, and you can see the huge picture used in the movie "GIANT". Even better, we never have to... More

Hotel is steeped in history. Lovely historic hotel with great amenities. Great location within walking distance to "Alamo" and Riverwalk area. Starbucks coffee in the rooms! The hotel is a great place to just visit for the history of the place.

The hotel is beautiful and the location is great but my room was tiny, my bathroom had very little shelf space and the shower head hit me at shoulder height. As I type this, I realize how little time I spent in the room and how wonderful the swimming pool was and how cool the bar was and that the... More

We stayed here for 3 nice and it was a nice little R&R while working the pool was nice but the jaquzzi SUCKED!!! I've seen bigger one's at the gym, plus none of the jets in it worked. It was a big disappointment. Plus the guy who came and kicked us out right at 9:00pm on the dot. He had... More
