This was my third stay at the O'Brien. The rooms are small, but nice. I like how it is close to the Riverwalk, but not right on it. The only complaint I have was the street noise that started very early in the morning. I would stay there again.

If you are expecting something like a Hyatt or other top of the line hotels, this is not for you. But, if you like a small, friendly & cozy boutique hotel that is close to the main attractions of San Antonio, you'll love 'the O'brien'. This is our favorite when we come to San Antonio and it never disappoints my... More

This historic boutique hotel is an excellent choice in San Antonio, TX. It is only a block from the Riverwalk, which means it is a block from the noise and chaos. It's close enough for dining and entertainment. The folks running this place are friendly, knowledgeable, helpful. The linens and furnishings are excellent. The breakfast offers many choices both hot... More

This is the 2nd time we've stayed here. First was several years ago when they had just remodeled it and we really enjoyed the uniqueness. This time, our room was beautifully set up, beds were clean, room cool. But the moldy smell made me sick. There were little pieces of trash in the floor leading to our room. The commode... More

It is an OK hotel....nothing great. Can't decide which is bigger - their breakfast area or their parking lot! Great location....so it is a good spot to be at if quick access to Alamo and other tourist attractions is important to you. Riverwalk is not too far either.

Historic, huh? Try tired. Furnishings had seen better days. But was nicely located and very clean. But for the price I'd stay somewhere else for a longer stay. For just the one night with me, the first ice and our older sons, it was fine.

This boutique hotel is very comfy and cozy, with good-sized rooms with a relaxed, historic feel. Beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are nice. Although it's only a block away from the river walk, don't count on scenic views. That said, the location is excellent, with many attractions such as the River Walk, Alamo, Cathedral, etc only a 5-10 minute... More

Great location. Only 1 block to stairs to the Riverwalk. Walking distance to Alamo and Tower of the Americas. Room was nice, clean and good size. Small hotel with a unique charm. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast provided was ok, not great. No fitness center or guest laundry on site.

Not my top pick but it was value for the money. The breakfast was nothing special but it was good and i liked that it was available at 6 am. The room was nice, but the carpet felt sort of sticky. The claw tub in the bathroom was cool and the balcony was nice. The staff was very friendly and... More

First time to SA and we would stay here again. Less than a block from the Riverwalk. Parking available. Friendly enough staff though not overly engaging. Breakfast very basic but hot choices are included. 3 story building, request 2nd or 3rd floor---quieter. Only annoyance was having to get our key card reprogrammed several times.
