I recently stayed at the St. Anthony and they were still under renovations. I wish I would have known because I would have booked another hotel. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable but we had no hot water during our stay. The hotel seems to have potential but I did not have a good experience.

Located nice and close to the river walk and Alamo. When I checked in alone I was a little nervous, the place reminded me of "The Shining". The hotel is grand and luxurious in a classic way. My room was very nice with a 4 post bed and a claw tub. I did have some eerie experiences of hearing other... More

The hotel is not fully open yet, after a complete interior refurbishment, but it is likely very quickly to establish itself as the best luxury option in town, certainly for business travelers. It's great to see that the old style of the original hotel has been maintained, yet the rooms are very modern and up-to-date. My room was well laid... More

We stayed when the hotel was only partially open. But if my room and the service is any indicator this grand old hotel is going to be the place to stay when in San Antonio. I just loved the quite location, the easy walk anywhere. The service was first rate and the food very good. My room was modern and... More

Start with a classic hotel with updated, with classic appointments in the public areas. Then, the rooms are all-modern with a spare style. The shower will blow your mind - a waterfall shower nicer than anything most of us have at home. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are quiet. The lobby has a quiet bar and a street-facing... Stayed here for a business meeting. The hotel is going through major renovations, and is somewhat behind schedule. At the start of our meeting the GM came to welcome us and also apologize for any inconvenience we might have, but like with all old buildings, every time they open up a wall, they find a new surprise. However, the common... More

This is an old luxury hotel with a history. It has had a recent update and is located in downtown San Antonio. The lobby is large, and the rooms are spacious but choppy. The front desk was friendly and helpful as were service personnel. I was attending a trade show and a banquet dinner was served on the roof. That... More

It was actually disappointing staying here because we went when it was under serious renovation at the time and it was an anniversary weekend. Everyone was really kind and helpful though and the rooms were clean although you didn't feel a the majesty of being in an historic hotel due to the giant tarps and hanging ceiling tiles. I think... We visited the St. Anthony as part of a wedding celebration for a friend. Valet is available and a necessity; as the garage is closed due to renovation (used by the builders for storage, etc.). There is also surface pay parking within walking distance. The common areas are beautiful; with huge chandeliers and carved woodwork/stonework. Many of the rooms are... More

After reading some of the very negative reviews of this hotel, I am glad we got to stay in a newly remodeled room! We booked our stay here because some friends were getting married in the hotel and were quite impressed with our experience! The valet and lobby staff were very friendly and attentive, the lobby is GORGEOUS, and the... More
