Stayed here on business while attending meetings at the nearby Hyatt. What a treat! Completely different than the square box hotels I usually stay at. But the reviewers who mentioned the street noise are right. If you live in ultra-quiet suburbia, you may not be able to sleep well with the sound of city buses roaring by periodically on the... more

We loved the location, right across from the Riverwalk. The staff was very attentive and sincerely friendly!!! The rooms had large ceiling to floor windows, very comfortable beds, nice breakfast, wine hour, warm cookies, and free internet computers. This is NOT a chain hotel, an old historical site, with every room, having it's own personality. Great amenities, and a nice... more

Wife and I stayed here in August of 2008, and can't imagine going anywhere else when we go back. Staff was incredibly friendly, and the included (hot) breakfast was delicious and varied - never the same thing twice. Location was perfect - right across the street from stairs down to the Riverwalk. The only *possible* drawback is that parking is... more

I attended a conference at the Hilton Palacio del Rio, a block away from this lovely & charming hotel. The pictures online do the place justice--soaring ceilings, wood floors, very comfortable bedding and delicious continental breakfast. The level of attention from staff was just right--for a small facility, they are very accommodating of unusual schedules yet not intrusive. The hotel... more

Hotel has character but is very noisy, dirty, and the staff is incredibly rude. The room we booked smelled like urine. We asked for a new one and they gave us a king suite and charged us more money. Homeless people loiter out front of the building and you can only see the Riverwalk in a small area across the... more

Dear Guest and Trip Advisor Members and Team, I am a bit confused by this review and have read it over a couple of times. I can’t seem to find a way to start answering without fearing to sound unfair or disrespectful to our guest. As always thank you for your review – positive or negative to us is equally...

Found a cockroach in the bathroom on the second night of our stay. I killed it and put it in a baggie so I could show the hotel staff in the morning. The only thing they had to say was there is a Mc Donalds on the first floor and they spray for bugs once a month. I got the... more

I arrived late in the evening and was immediately greated and shown to my room. No long hassle checking in! Just a friendly welcome and orientation to my room - which was spectular! The historical venue has been updated with modern conveniences - and very well done. But it was the special touches that I loved the most - the... more

One of my least favorite activities is standing in a huddle of noisy people waiting for an elevator to take me to my hotel room. Another least favorite activity is paying for and staying in a room that has as much inspiration as a mass produced cookie. That's why the Riverwalk Vista gets my vote for the best place to... more

Both my wife and I loved our stay at this historic hotel. It is located in the heart of the city, right next to the riverwalk, the Alamo, La Villita, and other San Antonio sites. There is street noise because the hotel is in the center of downtown and all its action. We both thought that this only added to... more

My husband and I visited San Antonio the week of May 11th to celebrate our anniversary. Based on other TripAdvisor reviews, we decided to stay at the Riverwalk Vista and were so glad that we did. The building itself is historic and quite charming. Fortunately, the rooms were updated with modern, elegant bathrooms, comfortable beds, air conditioning, TV with CD/DVD/VCR... more
