What a GEM! Our reservations at another place got messed up and at 1am we were searching for a place to stay. It was spring break and everything was booked except 1 room at the Hotel Havana. I am SO glad it didn't work out at the other place. This is close to the River Walk but far enough to... More

Awesome! Rich with details and history! I will stay here again and again! The on premise Ocho Restaurant and bar overlooking the river is an oasis, and the cuisine is a match for foodies! You MUST check out their club which is a lair for vamps, dark lit only by red votives... Intriguing and sensual!

In the heart of San Antonio only minutes from the famed River Walk is Hotel Havana. This quaint and attractive hotel is not designed for the frenzied business traveler who needs even more Internet download capability or a 24-hour business office. This is the place to getaway. Wood floors, ornate furnishings and antiqure furniture give on the impression they are... More

After staying all week at a fancy hotel for a conference, I was thrilled to check into the Hotel Havana. Charming and clean, it is definitely on my top five list for hotels. It's quiet and out of the way, but close enough to downtown that you can easily access restaurants and shops and transportation. The decor is fabulous and... More

Love the Hotel Havana! From the hard wood floors, eclectic furniture and mission style stairways, I couldn't have been happier. I look forward to returning someday for dinner at Ocho, their restaurant. A wonderfully and playfully designed room with huge glass walls overlooking a section of the River Walk. I had breakfast there, but really regretted not dining there the... More

It has been almost a year since we stayed at the Havana, but it remains one of the most memorable hotel experiences we've had. We booked two nights at the hotel based on the great TripAdvisor reviews, and it did not disappoint. Rooms have an excellent mid-20th century vibe (complete with 1950s style SMEG fridges and wooden shutters), and the... More

The bar at Hotel Havana deserves 5 stars for the dark lighting, decaying opulence vibe and master mixologists. The restaurant deserves 4 stars for good food and lovely glass walls overlooking the river. (I'm a vegetarian, and found several tasty menu options.) I'm only giving the hotel 4 stars, because one side of our room had windows looking into the... More

Location: Fantastic. It's off the beaten path of the Riverwalk, so you get the benefits of being close to the action without the attendant frustration of hearing "Woooooo" all night. Probably a 5-7 minute walk to the touristy parts of the Riverwalk. Room itself: Spotless. Ecletic. Full size fridge. Mexican Coke. Large bathroom. Noise: We had no Riverwalk noise, but... More

I should preface this review by stating that most of my hotel experiences have been in third world countries as well as some of Europe, both Western and Eastern. With that said... If you are looking for a standard, cookie cutter, That's-What-I-Expected stay at a hotel, look elsewhere. But if you're looking for a unique experience at an interesting, charming... More

Lying in the comfortable iron king-size bed made me think of trips to a grandparent's old home ... creaky floors, big center staircase, people's voices in the hall. We were on the 2nd floor overlooking the front street & balcony -- nice except when folks there for the Alamo Bowl had a late night party on the balcony & didn't... More
