Terrel Castle is a place most people don't know about, very close to everything and all kind of things to do. Across the street is Ft. Sam Houston military base, not far from there is the S A. Zoo, River walk, Etc. That is if you want to ever leave the castle, with what is offered right there Relaxation, Great... more

I found the castle on-line and stayed there last June (2008) when my husband and I took a trip to see San Antonio for the first time. We have stayed in B&B's before and I prefer places with character and history. You could see the area around Terrell Castle had, at one time, been home to San Antonio's high rollers.... more

I very much enjoyed our stay at Terrell Castle. I originally chose this B&B because it looked like a better value than the hotels near the Riverwalk (although still close by), had very affordable suites (my friend and I wanted separate beds), and was a rare opportunity to stay in a castle! The quality of accommodations and food exceeded my... more

The thought of staying in a castle seemed like an amazing idea for our anniversary. The castle looked like it was impresive back in the day, but hadn't been updated in at least 20 years. The wallpaper was peeling in our bedroom, the bed was uncomfortable, the bathroom was terrifying (tiny, the provided toiletries included a used bar of soap... more

I recently traveled to San Antonio to attend to a mix of business and personal matters. While there I stayed at the Terrell Castle for 6 nights. I stayed in the Oval Rm., my 1st rm. of choice and found the room to be beautiful and very comfortable. I also found the owners, Vic and Diane Smilgin to be very... more

As I sit on the eve of another Family Vacation to Hawaii, my nightmares have turned again to the dreadful experience my family and I once suffered – at a place called Terrell Castel. It was June of 2004, and I had just returned from Iraq (Operation Iraqi Freedom 1); we had two toddlers and we really needed to stay... more

The Terrell Castle was a treat! My twin boys have dreamed of being knights in a castle and this dream came true. We only stayed one night, which wasn't enough for us. We were the only guests so we didn't have to worry toomuch about making too much noise. The boys were able to explore every floor and we got... more

I have just come home after a sisters' weekend at the Terrell Castle B&B. We had a wonderful time and found the accomadations to be beyond our expectations. The rooms were very clean, as was the whole house. Our rooms were done with lovely antiques and the linens were very pretty. We felt very welcomed and comfortable from the moment... more

We stayed two nights in the Giles Suite with our two daughters, ages 4 and 6. After spending the day at a San Antonio theme park, we called to inform our hosts that we were on the way. They told us they were not home and that they didn't even recall our reservations. I had reserved the room two weeks... more

We were a little concerned as we drove through the neighborhood to the Terrell Castle. It was rough-looking, but we had no problems. The castle itself could use some updating and we could hear our neighbors through the walls. Generally clean, just worn. Food was OK, but won't stay here again. more
