and needed a place to sleep. Nothing fancy, no breakfast- the attendant did have gift cards for Dunkin Donuts, though. Like others have mentioned, it's within walking distance of most of the places we wanted to visit- that's the appeal.

I first experienced the Clipper Ship Inn back in Nov 2012 while attending a festival. The hotel is in a great spot very close walking distance to Salem and if you're a walker like me...head over to the city of Beverly. It's great! I really like the staff. I'm putting up friends of mine in a couple of weeks at... More

Room was clean and well kept. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. Gave me information about local trains and cabs. Held my luggage for me for a couple of hours as I checked out of my room early in the morning for an interview and could only be back after check out time. Overall it... More

This hotel is really close to downtown, which is exactly what I was looking for. The room was much bigger than I expected; it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The only bad thing was that the keurig in the room didn't work; luckily, there were dozens of Dunkin Donuts nearby to satisfy my coffee fix. Some of the... More

The price was good, It was within walking distance from everything in Salem! The room was a little dated, but very clean! The staff was quite nice, and even gave us gift cards to... More

I stayed here with my mom just for night to explore Salem. The rest of Salem's hotels were a bit pricey and we didn't need anything fancy but just needed a place to crash for the night. The hotel was clean and comfortable, close to downtown but not really walkable. Staff was friendly enough. Gave me 2 dunkin donuts gift... More
