We've stayed at this hotel for Halloween the last few years, but, sadly, we won't be going back in 2009 because they are raising their price yet again! I thought $300 a night was a bit much, but now with tax it will be $350 a night!!! We already shortened our trip last year due to the rising price, but... more

My family recently traveled to Salem at the request of my husband, an American History buff, who wanted to go to the museums and teach our two children about the Salem Witch Trials. We stayed at the Salem Waterfront Hotel due to the recommendation of a friend. While making our reservation, I checked out their Special Packages section of the... more

Stayed for 1 night. When reserved room had asked to be on top floor but NOT near elevator/stairs/vending/ice machines. After checking in realized we were on 1st floor of rooms and right near ice machine and elevator. Went downstairs and were moved to desired location w/o any problems and with an apology which seemed sincere Room was large and clean.... more

I had read some negative reviews about this hotel so I booked with some trepidation. My fears were laid to rest. The room was very clean and large. Everything looked new. The hotel is within walking distance of all the attractions and the harbor although we couldn't walk as much as we wanted because it was too cold and windy... more

This is a pretty basic hotel, rather like a travel lodge or similar. However, it is modern and clean and in an excellant location to explore Salem. The value is good compared to other hotels in the area and I believe would be great for families in particular as each room has two beds and the hotel has a small... more

I picked this hotel as gateway distanation when I took coule days off at work. Mw and my friend was trying to choose destanation between Hull, Salem, or Newport. We picked Salem because it is closer to Boston and easier to drive there. Me and my friend simply walked in in this place because it was the only hotel we... more

Although there were some positives, overall this hotel has problems. The accommodations are no better than a highway motel, food is a step above fast food and the service is very less than average. more

We stayed at the hotel for three days. We called and asked for the AAA rate which was 10 dollars less than the rack rate. 1) Location/Parking - 4/5: The hotel was located at Pickering wharf, a few blocks from the Peabody Essex Museum (although we still drove there because it was winter) and some stores in the wharf. They... more

We had an excellent family Halloween trip in Salem staying at the Salem Waterfront Hotel. The hotel is located on Pickering Wharf within walking distance to all of the popular attractions, nice restaurants and a terrific candy store. The lobby is lovely and nicely decorated with comfy couches. The front desk staff were very courteous and helpful with directions to... more

We stayed here over the xmas holiday in order to be close to family and friends. We got a better deal contacting the hotel via phone than we could get on their website. For what its worth the price via phone with the AAA discount was 50 cents less than the prices on the travel sites with the AAA discount.... more
