I've stayed at the Daniel's House four times. Went once and brought my mother, and daughter and a best friend on successive trips. From the hidden room to the secret message notebook hidden in one of the rooms(A real treat to read of the world travelers who have found and added to the book) from the hidden notes beneath a... more

We stayed here from 10/19-10/21. The house is beautiful and all the furniture and furnishings are authentic antiques. Its like walking into the 1600's. The house is not scary at all but it is old, dusty and creaky and that cat pops out of nowhere but it is well behaved. My only issue was the dust and cat since I... more

Stopping in on an east-coast drive, we were delighted to discover the Daniels House. We found Kay, the innkeeper, to be most gracious and pleasant. We have visited many historic homes where the doorways have a plexiglass barrier lest the visitors might breathe upon the fine contents of the rooms, yet Kay has opened her home and allows guests to... more

Coming from the very young west coast, I was excited to be staying in a home built in 1667. The rooms are huge and beautiful. I'm normally afraid of my own shadow, but this place wasn't scary. Kay, the innkeeper, is quite a character. I believe she is hard of hearing, so if she seems rude on the phone (as... more

I realize this place was built in the late 1600's. However, for being a bed and breakfast it was filthy and had a lot of mildew. I walked into the kitchen, where the owner serves food, and had a heart attack, it was filthy. I called the health department and all they could say was there was clutter. Also, be... more

We called one morning to see if there was room available for us at the Daniel's House. When we found out that no Queen or King beds were available I thanked the woman who answered the phone but said we would not be needing a reservation. After snorting, she sarcastically "thanked" me for , "calling early in the morning (it... more

My husband and I just returned from a trip to Salem. What a great time we had. Before anyone leaves for there trip please think about what it is you are going there for. If you are going for the history and to experience how they lived in the 1700's then it is a must to stay at the STEPHEN... more

The house is magnificent and we have never experienced such history before. It was so lovely that it was hard to drag ourselves away from the bed and breakfast since it was so busy there, we... more

My wife and I are booking a trip to Salem. We had called a few B&B's but they were full. Since the Stephen Daniels House doesn't have a web page I called to get some information on rooms, type of breakfast and openings. After telling me that they had an opening during the time we wanted I asked about the... more

My mom and I usually go to the Daniels House to start off our favorite holiday, Halloween, the official way, visiting Salem. When we visit there, Kay Gil makes us feel so at home, with her very enchanting, old Salem-ite home and beautiful antique and unique items, her personallity is charming, and she is so informative!!! Everyone should visit Salem,... more
