Ada and Don welcomed us, gave us a map and we walked all over Salem from their fantastic B&B for a couple of days! Homemade scones, waffles, fresh fruit and berries and coffee met us on our two mornings and we stayed a bit late our last morning (we enjoyed their company so much) before we headed off to a... More

This being our first time at a B&B, we weren't sure what to expect. Ada and Don were wonderful hosts and made us feel right at home. It's conveniently located and was a short walk to all the Salem activities. The room was clean and quite spacious. The breakfast delicious. When we return to Salem, we will definitely be back... This is a beautiful B&b run by a lovely and gracious couple....Our room was absolutely gorgeous boasting a four poster-canopied bed. Breakfast was ample, delicious and served family style which made for great conversation. Location is prime, making everything within walking distance. Hope to visit here again in the near future!

Once again my wife, Julie, and I spent a wonderful week in Salem as guests of Ada and Don at the Amelia Payson House. I believe this was our sixth stay there during our thirteen years of marriage, and that alone speaks volumes as to how much we enjoy staying with them. To us, Ada and Don are more than... More

Frank & Julie, Thank you for your generous comments and review on Trip Advisor. It’s rewarding to hear that the glow of your visits haven't diminished over the many times you’ve selected Salem as your vacation destination. For sure, the 4th of July wouldn’t be the same without you both, as we too enjoy and look forward to you returning... More

Off the main noisy path but so close you can walk to the common in 1 minute and downtown in 3-7 minutes. Nice, helpful, delightful couple who run it. Well appointed, immaculate rooms with lots of nice touches like bottled water kept in fridge in sitting room by the guest rooms along with great coffee maker and single cup brews... More

I called to book for two nights and told him we were driving from michigan so we would be in late the 1st night he said we can't check in after 9pm. I couldn't guarantee that so I told him how about I just book the second night and he said it would be better to just check in to... More

We will not apologize for not taking your reservation when you wanted to arrive very late at night. My husband was surely more realistic about a drive straight through from Michigan to Massachusetts and how long that would actually take. And besides, who says we have to receive guests at all hours of the night because that it what you... More

My husband and I (along with 2 friends from England) enjoyed 2 nights at the Amelia Payson House in Salem last week (6/18/14-6/19/14) and had a wonderful time. We had just spent 4 nights at another B&B in Boston, which was a subpar experience compared to the Amelia Payson House (but that is another story for another time). Long story... More

Thank you for your kind comments and review of your stay at our B&B. So glad that we met your 5 star expectations; especially after a “not so great” experience at another B&B. As for the taxi….I couldn’t believe they didn’t come after singing their praises and having called them many times before. I would have taken you down originally... More

Recently went to Salem to visit with our son & his family. The facility that we usually stay at was totally booked so we searched the web and come upon the Amelia Payson House. The inn is centrally located and it offers off the street parking which is a real benefit. It's very clean and well appointed and very comfortable.... More

We stayed at the Amelia Payson House in Salem last summer and would recommend it highly if you're planning a trip to Salem. Ada and Donald were great hosts - friendly and helpful. Without their advice we'd have missed an excellent exhibit at the Essex-Peabody Museum, a fine meal at local restaurants and the easiest way to get to Boston... More
