New ownership is taking steps to bring the property up to snuff and you see that in "soft" improvements such as nice bedding. But heavier long-term maintenance and upkeep need attention. Good location and extremely helpful and friendly staff just can't trump things like mildewy odor in rooms. Additional major improvements are on the way, but for right now, it's... More

Just spent a Friday night in lovely Tucson and this motel has an old school sign from the 1960's, but the rooms are pretty modern inside. THe moldy smell is pretty bad though when you walk inside, so use something (we used perfume) and it becomes tolerable. THere are no mini-refrigerators anymore, but alot of cable channels are available. The... More

Helpful and friendly staff and clean, quiet and cool room. Walked into dwtn Tucson in about 30 minutes, which was handy; probably a 5 minute drive. Like the retro feel. Continental breakfast was average, but keep in mind the low nightly price. Pool area was clean and had tables/umbrellas/chairs, which is nice in the heat -- one of the few... More

We love this place for short stays. It has everything you need to be comfortable without over-spending. The staff is friendly and attentive, the rooms are clean and well-appointed, and the pool is just right.

This hotel is a 50's-60's style motel, which, while it appears to have been remodelled, still keeps its retro charm. Rooms have been upgraded with nice carpet, bedding, and furniture - bathroom was spotless and provided the usual Quality Inn amenities. The bed was comfortable and the shower delivered a good stream of hot water. I noticed that at least... More

Dear step12dude, Thank you for appreciating our retro style. Our hotel was actually built in 1953 and opened in 1954. We continue to upgrade and renovate but try to stay true to its history. We are sorry that you did not get a chance to enjoy our full hot breakfast. It can be very inviting to eat while gazing at... More

Ms. Kerr, the young lady that checked us in to our room was a delight! She was also the person who took our phone call previous to arriving in Tucson, to take our reservation. She was helpful and super courteous! The room was clean and modern and the AC kept the room frosty and cool in that hot Arizona heat.... More

Clean, quiet room. Safe parking lot, close to local food and bar options. Strong, clean shower with plenty of hot water. Great breakfast, cool vibe. We were on the first floor and had a cool little front porch area. We met a friendly longhorn beetle there. Would definitely stay here again!

I must say that for the great price, the room was clean, breakfast was very nice and the bed was comfy. Was a little disappointed that there was only decaf coffee in our room. The pool was very refreshing and the spa was quite good! Seems to be a bit on the seedy side of town, but not bothersom in... More

Rooms had a musky smell at first bit was easy to get used to. Had a great experience, breakfast was pretty good. Beds were very comfortable and the shower was nice. The best part was the distance from the U of A, quick drive to the downtown university area! Would recommend to all!

It was an ok hotel, Needed some tender loving care, especially in bathroom and carpet needed repair in spots. Bath faucet in tub was loose and showed it had been patched poorly before. I didn't like the shower head. Cox cable sucked. I probably wouldn't stay there again as there are better hotels nearby with prices comparable. I came to... More
