The Lodge on the Desert was a pleasant surprise on a recent trip to Tucson. The property is attractively landscaped and quiet. Rooms are large and tastefully decorated in a Southwestern style, many with views of the mountains. The beds were extremely comfortable. The restaurant on the property was reasonably priced. Delicious food with many gluten free choices. Plenty of... More

A great find. Perfect service and accommodations. Great location. Excellent ambiance and food. A step back in time when service, care and comfort were the expectation of guests. Can't wait until we get to return.

We stayed here for three nights. We came in and left on the train and it was a $15 cab drive away from the station, but it was in a good location for getting to the national park on both sides and most other activities in Tucson. We had a rental at Enterprise and they were located close by so... More

One of the nicest properties we stayed at during a road trip through the Southwest. Rooms were large and very comfortable. The pool and spa area were great after a long, hot day in the Tucson desert. Bathrooms and bedrooms were truly oversized and very clean. There were a number of good restaurants within walking distance of the property. Check-in... More

I normally stay at Hilton chain restaurants but decided to give the resort a shot and was pleasantly surprised. While I missed the perks of being a diamond member at a big chain, the customer service and large accommodations with full kitchens made up for it. I dined both nights in the bar area with access to full menu from... More

This was our second visit and we were not disappointed. Once again we stayed in a deluxe room located on the second floor and had a view of the mountains. This room did not have a remodeled bathroom but was still spacious and comfortable with two sinks. The staff was friendly during check in/out and maid service was great, cleaning... More

To start with, it's never a great idea to gouge guests (by more than doubling your rates) just because it's the one busy weekend in your city, that doesn't build loyalty for those guests who travel there frequently. I had my room reservation booked 6 months in advance -double queen beds for 3 people- I reconfirmed the week before. Upon... More

An old hotel brought up to date. It is in town but very quiet. Large room, very nice bathroom with a lot of space, good shower (useful after a day of hot hiking). Location makes access to everything very easy. Saguaro East is just 15-20 minutes; Saguaro West is about 30, Sabino about 20, etc. Restaurant is expensive and good,... More

The Lodge on the Desert is a very nice and quiet hotel with easy access to downtown Tucson and the University of Arizona. There's a nice central grass area that creates a peaceful ambiance to the area. The swimming pool and hot tub are located towards the front of the property and have a nice sitting area. One note; the... More

I have stayed at this hotel two times in the past year on vacation. I found it the first time through the chamber of commerce. I love staying here! The service and staff are great. You can feel the history when you walk into the lobby. If you enjoy sitting outside, there are lots of little private areas with fountains... More
