We were travelling on a budget and the Hotel Arizona accommodated us nicely. We were able to check in early which was great because it was a hot day so we could freshen up before exploring Tucson. The air-conditioning in the lobby wasn't working very well but it was in our room which was the main thing. There's no breakfast... more

Some of the reviews were pretty scary but I found this an adequate place to spend the night. It appears that this place was pretty swanky in its day but it is showing its age. The elevators were slow and a little rickety but the room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. I found the staff to be friendly... more

My husband and I went to Tucson for a convention at the end of March 2009. Because the room rates were negotiated by the association, and the convention was being held at the nearby Convention Center, we booked at The Hotel Arizona. And -- after reading some of the reviews from January 2009, and looking at the hotel's website --... more

The hotel lobby and location are pretty good. I was actually pretty impressed with the hotel at first. Nonetheless, the rooms are very small and felt dark and old. Overall after two nights, i felt like I paid for what I got, and the hotel was just ok. They could definitely benefit from some room upgrades, at which point it... more

I stayed at this hotel with my fwife over Easter weekend. I booked through hotwire, so I looked up the hotel on trip advisor. I was a little put off by the negative reviews, but since I had already paid, I thought I would see for myself. My opinion is that this hotel is mainly geared towards business travelers who... more

Don't ever stay here. We had a 59 per night rate. The mean spririted manger over charged us over $200. The TV was broken and they would not fix it. The maids removed things from our room Birthday gifts and Wii cables and CD's BAD--BAD--BAD more

When we arrived it was noon. (apparently check in is 2) we were told our rooms would be ready in 15 minutes. We were told to go have lunch and the desk clerk would find us to let us know our rooms were ready. Long story short 15 minutes turned into over two hours!! I went out to my car... more

We actually got this room on Hotwire. As soon as I found out which hotel I got for $59, I looked it up on Tripadvisor. I was a bit scared after reading the horrible reviews. It really was just fine. Sure, the hotel has seen better days. But our corner room had a great view, was well appointed and spacious.... more

We stayed at this hotel after a day of sightseeing in the Tucson area. We got a walk-in rate of $99. The room was old and the bedding was not comfy. The pillows were old and flat. At about 8:30 a DJ started playing at an event right below our room. For 3 1/2 hours all we could hear was... more
