We stayed here two nights over Halloween 2009 and used the hotel as a base for exploring the city. We chose the location because it is close to just about everything. The room was fine - our comments are similar to the other reviews. Yes, there was some noise but not from the nearby trains (not a concern - it's... more

The Royal Sun is one of the nicer Best Western's I've stayed in- it's clear that it is well managed and well run. Scrupulously clean rooms with a refrigerator, comfy beds, shower (no tub), great pool surrounded by tropical plantings, and a location that's convenient to most things, combine to make this a really good value. It's not a fancy... more

Stayed here for several nights. Staff were very helpful, and the rooms well furnished. Only major downside was the requirement for waitress service for breakfast which in the 21st century is just bizarre. What's wrong with a buffet? more

As a frequent visitor to Tucson, I have a wide level of experience with Tucson Hotels. Folks, this one is the best one I've found for the money. First, many of the rooms are full suites - separate sitting room and sleeping room. The bed linen is all new, great pillows, acceptable mattress. The room is spic and span. I... more

My husband, myself and friend drove down from Phoenix to visit Tucson over this past Thanksgiving. We stayed in one of the Double Suites and had a great stay - very clean, great landscaping. The room was spacious and had a connecting door between the bedroom and sitting room area which afforded lots of privacy. The hotel was in a... more

The rooms are comfortable and spacious. I found the room clean but the noise of the trains behind the hotel, every hour, did not help my experience. Your stay includes a free breakfast at the restaurant next door but beware, you get 5 items which includes coffee. To match the standard of other hotels you need to add stuff but... more

The rooms have been recently renovated, and are fairly clean. Fantastic staff, extremely quick and very helpful. The restaurant was changing menus when I was there, so choice was quite limited, but I think this is a very temporary situation. There are basically 2 problems with this hotel, and I feel it is a bit unfair to list them, but... more

We stayed in a one bedroom suite for two nights. We were there to visit the surrounding U of A campus and we found that this hotel was conveniently located to everything. The bedroom was large, clean and had many of the features you would expect from a suite: refrigerator, small desk, lounge chair, bar, sink, and hair dryer. The... more

Wow. Where to start... 1. Terrible neighborhood/security. Seedy characters everywhere. Combined with the poor lighting and flimsy bathroom windows (with a broken latch) facing an empty lot strewn with broken glass, I thought for sure I would be robbed at some point during my stay. They absolutely need a security guard or a fence surrounding the exterior of the facility.... more

Great location, good room, desk staff okay, but not especially polite. depending on who was on duty. Main problem: very limited Tv selections. No PBS, no Comedy, no CNBC, although two of these were listed on plastic card as available stations. more
