Was fortunate to get a short notice reservation at the Desert Trail. Wonderful room with a wood-burning fireplace that came in handy during a chilly night,. Breakfast was delicious. Provided excellent referrals for dinner and hiking. Thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Can't wait to go back for a longer stay.

We travel to Tucson once a year, in January, for business and a few days of hiking in one of the world's most fascinating landscapes: the Sonoran Desert. Tucson is a great restaurant town, too (try Feast and the new Commoner & Co.). This year, though, our long-time favorite B&B, the Azure Gate, was booked. They recommended Desert Trails. It... More

Wow! Thanks for the kind words and thanks for the professorship...if only it were true. Sadly I was just another lowly, ne'er-do-well PhD: Steffi had the real job. Thanks again and we're really glad you enjoyed your stay. More

Want a wonderful ranchero-style place to stay on the edge of the Saguaro National Park? Desert Trails is it. The Dripping Springs trailhead is at the end of Speedway Blvd about a mile down the road and the Mica trailhead about 2 miles. Perfect spot for a couple of days relaxing. It is so quite that we literally were awakened... More

Very peaceful to be located in the countryside of Tucson near to Saguaro National Park. Comfortable bed and delicious (and ever changing) breakfasts every day. The owners (host) are delightful and full of helpful information, but they are never intrusive. We absolutely loved our week stay.

We stayed here for the getaway weekend. The Mica room was really clean and spacious with the fireplace. The breakfast offered was very creative and tasty. John and Steffi were very friendly and always catered to our needs. We arrived late on the first night and they left friendly notes showing us the way in and helped us feel at... More

Desert Trails is located just outside of the city of Tucson on the east side of town. As you approach on Speedway Boulevard the town seems to end abruptly after the last traffic light, about 3 or 4 miles before you get to Desert Trails. This is an ideal location for access to the east unit of Saguaro NP, and... More

We like to 'wing it' on a road trip but after 2 nights @ Motel 6 we went on line to find something nicer...Desert Trails is off the beaten path enough to be quiet but still easy access to Tucson. John and Steffi have a beautiful property, the best SouthWest breakfast ever and are charming hosts who were more than... More

My husband and I traveled to AZ and had a great stay at this B & B. John is very knowledgeable about the area and has great inside information on if the activities we chose were worth doing and making new suggestions. We enjoyed talking with John each morning and seeing the hummingbirds come up to the window. We stayed... More

Thanks for your review and we're glad you enjoyed your stay. Since your stay the guesthouse has acquired reliable WiFi throughout. Regarding our proximity to Saguaro National Park: the last time I checked, our property line was sixty-five feet from the park boundary fence and there are no houses between us and the park. The Wentworth Trail Corridor, which leads... More
