Desert Trails is located just outside of the city of Tucson on the east side of town. As you approach on Speedway Boulevard the town seems to end abruptly after the last traffic light, about 3 or 4 miles before you get to Desert Trails. This is an ideal location for access to the east unit of Saguaro NP, and... More

We like to 'wing it' on a road trip but after 2 nights @ Motel 6 we went on line to find something nicer...Desert Trails is off the beaten path enough to be quiet but still easy access to Tucson. John and Steffi have a beautiful property, the best SouthWest breakfast ever and are charming hosts who were more than... More

My husband and I traveled to AZ and had a great stay at this B & B. John is very knowledgeable about the area and has great inside information on if the activities we chose were worth doing and making new suggestions. We enjoyed talking with John each morning and seeing the hummingbirds come up to the window. We stayed... More

Thanks for your review and we're glad you enjoyed your stay. Since your stay the guesthouse has acquired reliable WiFi throughout. Regarding our proximity to Saguaro National Park: the last time I checked, our property line was sixty-five feet from the park boundary fence and there are no houses between us and the park. The Wentworth Trail Corridor, which leads... More

I recently stayed at this B&B while in Tucson for a wedding. Since it was "off season" for Tucson, I enjoyed having the B&B all to myself. I didn't know what to expect exactly, but the setting and home were just gorgeous!! The attention to detail for the guests went above and beyond any expectations. John put out a full... More

This lovely B &B is a wonderfully charming property and the hosts were so inviting! Our very large room and very large bath were very comfortable, and our sleep was great partly because the AC system is a high-quality quiet one. The breakfasts were delicious, creative, and ample. John and Steffi were very helpful with lots of tips on restaurants... More

We live in Phoenix and just wanted to get away for the weekend, we thought about camping but decided to check out Tucson. Mica Room is fantastic, loved the fire place - set a romantic tone, and loved the private entrance to the patio. Owners are super friendly and helpful on what to do in the area, loved their doggies... More

What a find! We read the reviews of course on Trip Adviser and then went and spent two nights here in the Spud Rock room. This is smaller than the Mica room but has a private patio which was used for happy hour in the evening after hiking Saguaro National Park! John and Steffi are very welcoming and their B&B... More

I must begin by saying I have never spent the night in a quieter room. Between the brick walls and the "edge of the desert" location, you could hear a pin drop. We had decided to stay at the Desert Trails because of the great T A reviews and are glad we did. Being located slightly outside of town was... More

We are veteran B & B travelers and it does not get any better than this. Please read other reviews. John had a few suggestions to change our itinerary that were awesome, Mt. Lemmon Observatory instead of downtown U of A, for example. They really know the area but what sets John and Steffi apart is their willingness to take... More

I wanted to get some sun, enjoy the desert, and get some hiking in. Desert Trails is the best spot for all of these. Less than 1 mile from Saguaro National Park's nearby maze of awesome trails, and located in a quiet part of Tucson, this was the perfect spot. Hosts John and Steffi were extremely gracious, the food was... More
