I stayed at the Sam Hughes Bed and Breakfast Inn because price was right and it was walking distance to University of Arizona. Owner Lady was very responsible, she emailed me a day in advance to check what time I'll be arriving and my dietary restrictions for breakfast. I arrived late night and she planned everything for my arrival, got... More

Her breakfasts were amazing, the decor so cozy and looking out at the courtyard with all the flowers abloom was so inviting. We returned to Tucson to revisit our memories of living in the desert in the early 80's. Staying at the Sam Hughes Inn was a perfect location with wonderful ambience. Our fellow travelers were delightful and every breakfast was elegant and delicious. We were there for 9 breakfasts; each was unique. My favorite was a spinach quiche that was to... More

We're on a long US trip from the UK and of the 6 hotels and B&Bs we've stayed in (so far) the Sam Hughes Inn takes the Gold Medal, without question Our experience was a pleasure from start to finish. Everything about it was just right - in fact, perfect. As many have mentioned, Susan sets the scene by being... More

Susan Banner, the innkeeper, owns a lovely home in historic Tucson. Delicious creative breakfasts, gorgeous garden and fountain are relaxing. Interior design is Arizona charm. The best bed award, too!

First, Susan is very good company. She and I talked a lot during the time I was there getting information about transferring to the University of Arizona and she was very helpful giving me information about the local housing market.
