The rooms and service were excellent and similar to most of the HIE Hotels we've stayed in, but the outstanding part of this stay was the really good free hot breakfast. The breakfast area was spacious, divided into areas for different types of seating (near TV or fireplace, for example), and the fare was varied and well made. Felt like...

We decided to stay here to avoid the drive after a New year's eve party. We had 3 kids with us - they are 18, 11 and 8. We selected the room with 2 queens and a sofabed. It was plenty of room. Refrigerator, Microwave, Ironing board, safe, etc. Everything you need is available. I didn't have breakfast, but it...

The pros:
Fantastic location!
Breakfast is exceptional; in addition to the standard "Express" breakfast, this hotel features chorizo, tortillas, and refried beans so that you can experience some local flair.
Average price (we paid $90 for the night).
Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
The cons:
Stains on bathroom linens.
Stains on hallway carpets.
No flatscreen TV - big clunky...

We have stayed at many Holiday Inn Express establishments... most of which have been great. This one was ok. It was unfortunate that we had "stompers" residing above us, who stomped the entire night (not sure what they were doing). I would suggest that the best way to avoid stompers is to stay at the very top floor. The other...

We thought this property was an exceptional value for the money--friendly, helpful front desk staff, spotless, well-maintained rooms which were large enough to "hang out" in (with a desk, sofa, coffee table set up in a separate alcove from the bed area). The pillows and bedding were good quality (TV a little outdated, but worked well and the picture quality...

I am loyal HIE customer. I find that the cost per room ratio to room / services provided are on target. This property in particular was firing on all cylinders during our recent stay. First off the property is beautiful - very nicely appointed from the outside, to the lobby, and the rooms as well. Breakfest room was super nice...

Stayed here four nights after a three nights in San Diego as part of a 3 week road trip.
Staff were very friendly. The room was clean and tidy. Bathroom was ok, apart from the mould on the silicone sealant around the edge of the bath. Good Wi-Fi and a CRT TV with good reception. Good breakfast area with a...

Being a middle class American at heart, I like to stay at hotels that have amenities such as in-room microwaves and fridges and the ever popular free wi-fi. I can pack my lunch for the next day or cool down that little split of wine I brought along. I can also throw open the window to catch a great breeze...

Recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Tucson Mall on 6/12/11-6/14/11 and enjoyed the stay. All of the rooms are suites with a microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker, separate kitchen sink with utensils and a sofa bed. Rates were cheap at that time only $99 per night and includes the usual HI Express breakfast: Scrambled eggs, cheese omelet, sausage/bacon, biscuits and...
