Planning a trip to Tucson, we were looking for something out of the ordinary with a southwestern ambiance. There are many large high end resorts in the area but they did not appeal. We feel lucky to have selected El Rancho Merlita, formerly vacation get away for Merle Norman, now converted to an Inn with approximately a dozen rooms in... More

Recently spent 6 nights here staying in the arroyo building. We arrived late on our first night to due issues at the Phoenix airport, and the Inn manager, Patti had everything arranged for our late arrival. The inn is in a very small gated community. The Inn and room's decor is southwestern, very clean, and the common area and grounds... More

I booked at the Inn at El Rancho Merlita based on TA reviews and was extremely pleased with my choice. This once-home of Merle Norman has a resort appeal inside a gated community though it is operated like a traditional B&B. The decor is high end southwestern comfy and the rooms, the common area, and the grounds are immaculate. If... More

Thank you for appreciating our efforts and for sharing! And for the advice for future guests. Sorry Thirsty's was a disappointment. Though they are very close by, we do not recommended them either. More

My wife and I are on a driving tour of the SW and we stayed 2 nights in the Ranch House in the Spanish Colonial room. Very clean, spacious sleeping area and bath with large walk in shower. Located at the end of the Ranch house it was convenient to the parking area and possible to enter the room directly... More

Thanks for the great review and for appreciating our efforts! We are sorry there were WiFi issues while these folks were visiting. Once they were brought to our attention our provider was able to remedy the situation. More

We stayed at the El Arroyo House section for 3 nights from Sept 27- 29th 2015 and found the room to be very clean and well appointed. The breakfasts we're excellent and our host, Leslie was most helpful by making us most comfortable and also by pointing out lots of great information about the area. We found the salt water... More

Hard to know where to begin. We were on a 9 night tour of AZ and NM, and this was by far the nicest B&B we stayed in. This was Merle Norman's vacation house - not hard to tell it was built by a very wealthy person. Beautiful grounds, spacious rooms (ours had a bathroom I'd like to have at... More

We usually stay at resort hotel properties when in Tucson but found this little place online, read the reviews, and decided to give it a shot. We were not disappointed. Wonderful staff. Leslie was available and friendly but not imposing . We had the pool all to ourselves two days. Wildlife, stars, great afternoon treats( the Mexican brownies were my... More

This time we stayed in Arroyo House instead of the Ranch and it was very nice. I don't think there is a bad room in the whole place. Patti the Innkeeper was away but Leslie took wonderful care of us. She was so pleasant and informative and a very good cook too. A couple of days here is like a... More

The B&B is beautiful and relaxing. If you want a stay that is quiet, romantic and beautiful stay here. We stayed 3 nights in April and really enjoyed our stay. The property is beautiful and the room was beautifully decorated. They have so many different spaces to sit and relax, great fire pit for night time, great breakfast included and... More

One of the most difficult things to maintain for any hospitality business is consistency. Rancho does it well. We have stayed here several times and each time the rooms, pool, and grounds have all been well maintained. Patti, the innkeeper has a wealth of information about Tucson and is very helpful in planning sites to visit. Breakfast is excellent. Stay... More
