Following a long, difficult day of traveling, it was such a relief to find Rancho Merlita just as promised - VERY comfortable bed and solid, well-appointed room. 'Loved the high ceilings and meticulous details. Lots of high quality, thoughtful amenities (robes and slippers, refrigerator, ice-cold water bottles). Staff was very friendly and available, but not intrusive. Breakfast was tasty in... More

My husband and I stayed at The Inn at El Rancho Merlita for a quick week getaway from the Minnesota cold. We don't like resorts or large hotels; we prefer fewer people and appreciate peace and quiet. We have stressful careers and want to get away from our busy lives when we vacation. The Inn at El Rancho Merlita was... More

Thank you so much for pointing out and appreciating many of our inn's assets. We are very fortunate to be able to provide a restorative retreat not far from good restaurants and many of the area attractions. Most of our guests do not mind at all travelling a bit farther to our city center, and they are happy to return... More

We enjoyed a four day stay in the Spanish Colonial room which was extremely well appointed and had very good bedside reading lamps. The bathroom was quite exquisite and had many nice touches such as dimmer switches on the lights and ample storage space for toiletries. While we were not in need of a handicap accessible room it struck us... More

We regret that this reviewer was less than enthusiastic about our culinary offerings. Certainly candid reviews help to keep us on our toes, and we appreciate them. If you continue reading, you will find that most of our guests very much enjoy our food. We serve a buffet that consists of one entree (which we rotate between sweet and savory),... More

Rancho Merlita is a lovely B&B in a quiet location on the east side of Tucson. Since one drives to do almost anything in Tucson, we had no problem with it being off the main roads. We enjoyed our room in the annex, which felt more private than the main house. The room was extensively decorated in a dark and... More

My wife and I stayed in the Black Mountain room in early December. We have done a fair amount of traveling and stayed in many nice accommodations...El Rancho Merlita ranks among the top. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, and the grounds were absolutely amazing. We enjoyed sitting on the huge front porch... More

rancho merlita was wonderful and was the perfect getaway for my too brief weekend in Tucson. I had looked at other B&B closer to the U of A but booked here due to the availability and williness to accept a one night only reservation on weekends. I wished I could have stayed longer and will certainly be back!! The room... More

Many thanks to these and all the other reviewers for taking the time to share their experiences at The Inns at El Ranch o Merlita. Please note that all 8 of our guestrooms in both the Ranch House and Arroyo House were completely renovated before we opened 5 years ago. More

rancho merlita is one of the best B&Bs I've stayed in. The room and bathroom were spacious and immaculate. The ranch house was gorgeous with spectacular views of the mountains. The expansive grounds were very well kept. The breakfasts, which were different every day (we stayed 6 days), were delicious and graciously prepared and served. Our room was very quiet... More

Thanks to this and all our many appreciative reviewers. Your feedback is essential! It is always a challenge to develop historic properties with existing electrical wiring. We are very diligent about keeping 3-way bulbs in the lamps for good reading light. We are adding a floor lamp, which I believe will help. And I am on my way to that... More

Rancho Merlita was just perfect for our four-night stay in Tucson. Our room, Black Mountain, was large and comfortable, with a lovely 1950s bathroom (think pink, burgundy, and black) that took us back to quieter times. The breakfasts were delicious, the snacks were yummy, and Janice was a wealth of information about sights and restaurants. Though the property is not... More
