The husband and I took some time to ride to Tucson's Kitt Peak Observatory and while there for the weekend we decided to stay at a local bed and breakfast called Paca de Paja and we left feeling spoiled. It was our first time staying at a B & B instead of a hotel so we were a bit nervous.... More

This charming B&B really is in the boonies - but is convenient for Kitt Peak and for hiking in the desert. It has only one room on offer so reservations are imperative. You get a bedroom and a living room and a private patio where you can relax and enjoy the desert birds and the stars. There is a small... More

Paca de Paja B&B feels more remote than it actually is. There is one guest suite set apart from the owner, Catherine Wilson's, own living quarters. Everywhere you look in the suite or in the main part of the house, where a delicious breakfast is served, there is beauty with a Southwestern motif. Those concerned with the health of the planet... This is a wonderful B&B located outside of Tucson. Caroline is a perfect host with her little dog Hampton. The guest accomodations are private including a separate sitting room, patio and jacuzzi. Caroline makes delicious home-made bread in her solar oven. For those that enjoy spending time in a quiet and pristine area (as we did), this is the place... More

Caroline and Hampton offer impeccable and thoughtful hospitality. Their home is decorated throughout with Southwestern charm and practicality. More importantly, however, is their desire to make their guests feel welcome and to facilitate their enjoyment of the area. Maps and guidebooks abound plus personal recommendations based on guests' desires. I was also most impressed with Caroline's willingness to print out... More

We were lucky enough to spend New Year with Caroline and Hampton. Paca de Paja itself is a simple but beautiful home, tastefully furnished and decorated by Caroline. The guest accommodation is spacious - bedroom, bathroom, living room and outdoor terrace - with beautiful views over the gardens and cacti walks. Everything here is so peaceful and calming. During our... More

This straw bale home is charming with wonderful touches in and out. Caroline is thoughtful and gracious, and a lovely hostess. We didn't spend nearly enough time here, and I'd like to head back again.

My husband and I stayed for two nights at the end of September. The weather was perfect and so was this bed and breakfast! Caroline put a LOT of thought into her place and made it not only special for herself, but visitors as well. Every review I read before choosing her B&B were very accurate (not made up to... More

I stayed at the Paca de Paja in August of 2013. It's hot in the desert this time of year - over 100 during the day. I was anxious to see how the straw bale construction of the house and the evaporative cooling system (more efficient than AC) could hold up to the elements at the hottest time of year.... More

We selected Caroline's B&B based on its close proximity to Kitt Peak as we were planning to attend the night viewing. Our stay with her was too short and we will be back again, but this time for a longer period. A very relaxing and well planned B&B with great service!!!
