We stayed at Armory Park B&B in Tucson last week. We had delightful accomodations in the New Mexico suite. It was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Now for the best part! The living room opens into a magical courtyard filled with grapefruit, lemon, and orange trees. There is a koi pond with fish that we fed every morning. Also, a hot tub is available for your use. Every morning we walked over to the kitchen where we found a large bowl of the freshest fruit salad, warm homemade scones or muffins (I had to get the recipe), cereal, yogurt, juice, teas and coffee. The part we liked the most was loading our trays with all the delicious goodies and heading back (a short stroll) to the table and chairs by the koi pond which was right outside our guesthouse. It was a relaxing and beautiful way for my husband and I to start the day. A cozy breakfast by ourselves while basking in the warmth and beauty of the picturesque courtyard. I just spent 3 days here and was completely satisfied. Its located in the historic district of Tucson just off the downtown. It was a great deal for the money. I paid $60 per night during the off season of July and this was in contrast to the $100 that most other places were charging. I don't think that most of the other more expensive places are really any better (I have seen some competition). I had the smaller of 2 rooms and it was good sized and very nicely furnished and spotless. The rooms face a center courtyard that has a covered ramada, jacuzzi and orange trees. I used to live in Tucson and didn't realize just how convenient the location would be. The main streets in Tucson are nearby so its easy to get around town from here. The University of Arizona is a 10 minute drive. The hosts were friendly and helpful. They don't take credit cards so you prepay.
