We had the pleasure of being the first visitors of the season to the Inn on the Wharf in Lubec, ME. It was a little hard to find (I later learned that signs are taken down for the winter, due to wind), but the owner was expecting us and greeted us personally at our car. He and another employee helped... More

The views and sunsets every night were as spectacular as ever. Another wonderful stay - this is becoming an annual event for us. The weather was a bit cooler but surprisingly pleasant. The room was clean, comfortable and perfect water views (all rooms do!). Great meals for terrific value at the restaurant on site (very convenient!), and excellent coffee at... More

This funny little hotel has been built into an old sardine factory and, yes, there's sometimes a faint fishy smell as it is still on a working wharf. That said there was no smell in our room at all and the uniqueness of the hotel is such that it is one place you will never forget. And it represents terrific... More

I read many of the reviews before we booked and most of them represented the pluses and minuses of this facility fairly; however I have to respectfully disagree with anyone who gave this facility an excellent rating. That being said we were happy with the accommodations and the setting because I read those reviews and we knew what to expect.... More

The apartment is beautiful, simple and view phenomenal but...the room smells fishy, very very strong fish smell! Maybe if the master bedroom was tiled the odor wouldn't come through or stick?! Opening the windows cleared the smell! But is mid October. Not really an option. The setting is gorgeous and we saw two whales from our room! Might return again... More

What a unique place in every way. From the shape of the room (long and narrow) to the exposed tastefully painted concrete beams and iron beds to the Ikea chairs facing the harborside windows (with gorgeous up close water views) this place screams eclectic and chic. One would NEVER know it is a refurbished sardine factory! The "community room" with... More

My husband and I stayed in one of the apartments with beautiful water views. The amenities included a full size kitchen with dishwasher, two full bathrooms, an outdoor deck accessible from the living room and master bedroom, and wireless access. The only thing missing was a TV. The Inn is connected to Fisherman's Wharf Restaurant that is open from 7... More

We live in N. California & decided to visit because Lubec is the most eastern town in America & it sounded like fun. It was my favorite place on our 1500 mile trek. The offer a whale watching boat twice a day. The ocean view from our room was perfect. The room was clean, with crisp white sheets. I wish... More

The bay front rooms are small, but very functional and clean. Also quite cute. The big plus is the common room which has a couple of different seating areas, deck, kitchen, laundry and restrooms. Who wants to sit in a motel room anyway. I've never been in a hotel that had such a great way to meet folks and enjoy... More

Very nice place and friendly staff. We stayed in one the new buildings on the little cliff nearby. We had a magical view on the water to see the tides in the bay. The restaurant in the Inn (The Fisherman's Wharf) served the best "Fish Soup" we have ever eaten. The only sad thing is that the restaurant is closed... More
