Came across The Inn at the Wharf while wandering around Lubec at the end of the day after hiking at Quoddy Head State Park. Needed a place for the night. Pleasantly surprised by the cannery-turned-inn. Large, clean, uncluttered room directly over the water with a great view. Tile and wood flooring which is much cleaner than the usual carpet. Very... We had a nice stay here. Spent two nights. Rooms are not suites. They are hotel rooms that are clean and comfy and ours had a deck. It kind of felt like you were on a cruise ship. Yes...it smells a bit fishy but no big deal. I didn't like the common area where guests had to make the morning... More

I guess I ought to start with the good things. The place is clean and the view is wonderful. The free coffee in the morning was good, but the muffins were not! Now for my complaints. What is called a suite on their website is nothing more than a motel room. We had booked the room for 3 nights as... More

Our check in was interrupted by a shy young man who came to the desk and said" I want to cash out my winkles.". Turns out that the owners of this place not only remodeled an abandoned and ruined sardine cannery into a great motel. They also created a lobster and .... periwinkle... buying wholesaler for the local lobsterman and... More

My husband, sister, and I spent the nights of September 16 and 17, 2014 at The Inn at the Wharf. We had read Trip Adviser reviews and read some complaints about fish smells in the room, but we loved the location and figured we would try it and just open the windows to let in fresh air. Upon entering the... More

The inn is right up next to the water. The rooms are comfortable and clean with large windows overlooking the bay. Fantastic place to sit and enjoy a beverage at the end of the day. The common area with a full kitchen works well. We fixed dinner in it one night just because we were tired of eating out. We... More

Can't believe this isn't the top rated place in lubec. Arrived not expecting too much as the reviews on here hadn't been great and lubec had been dropped from the latest edition of the lonely planet. I couldn't have been more wrong! Although check in was slightly problematic (due to the person who normally worked on reception being called to... More

quite a treat, this is an old fishing sardine factory that has been renovated into rooms, the ceilings are high and rooms are large and long, looking out onto the soundside harbour. if you care to bring in your own food you can cook and store items in full size kitchen with stove and refrigerator. we only stayed one night... I was so worried that I might have exaggerated the wonderful view, the cleanliness, the wonderful feeling of family, the wonderful bed, and the food, BUT alas- I was wrong. Everything was better than I remembered- the people were: wonderful from the Head Housekeeper to the waitresses to the cooks. The best lobster the first night & the second night... More

We just returned from a weekend at the Inn at the Wharf. No TV was great as it gave us time to read and watch the bay from the large windows in our room. "Moonrise" was a large room with a very comfortable king bed. We decided not to take the room with the baloney which was a good decision.... More
