We camp every year in Maine and get to "Jacks" at least every other year, and really enjoy the secluded large sites. Sightseeing is never ending in and around Lubec and there are plenty of good "Home cookin" restaurants around. more
If you're looking for a beautiful, secluded campgrounds in Maine: we highly recommend Southbay. We recently stayed at South Bay Campground. It met our needs (a place to camp), but seemed a bit neglected. The bathhouses were dirty and smelly and the playground and pool area could use some upkeep. SouthBay Campgrounds is on topr of the rest and absolutely the best. Good old-fashioned hopitality with tent sites that make you wonder if anyone else is around. Cabins in the moonlight.
