First of all, the staff were courteous and helpful. I'd have to add that they also seemed apologetic. I have nothing against old historic hotels, but they need to be kept up. Patchy paint, broken wall trim and cracked light fixtures in the hallways, threadbare spots on the furniture in our suite, toilets that flush very tentatively, NO movies to... more

Stayed here as part of a conference booking and it started badly with my room having been allocated as smoking despite my request for non-smoking. I had a long wait at reception and then was shown to another room which was the take it or leave it choice. The room was OK but disappointing when compared to the spectacular lobby... more

i'm not sure exactly what prompted the negative reviews. this is a gorgeous, spacious, immaculately renovated hotel in the center of an amazingly beautiful little city. our room was huge - what they call a jr. suite with 2 enormous california king beds and a sitting area with a very comfortable oversized chair, a desk and a sleeper sofa. the... more

Gracious hospitality from our staff and historical charm is a wonderful description of the Providence Biltmore. An icon in the Providence Skyline for over 87 years, we are privileged to be part of this city’s heritage. The room you stayed in is our most popular and spacious. We are glad you enjoyed the city of Providence and the Biltmore. We...

We had an overall very good three night stay in September. The junior suite was roomy (except for the water closet) and the bed was comfortable. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. The hotel's location is a plus and a minus. In the heart of downtown Providence it's close to everything (shopping, parks, nightclubs, pubs and restraunts) and hosted... more

I have never been treated like they treated me before. This is the first time I had stayed in a hotel of this quality. It started as soon as we drove up in front and the valet personel met us. Because we had been traveling in our car for several days previous to arriving we were disorganized as to what... more

this was by far the worst hotel I've ever experienced! I'm surprised that its still standing! The best was the portable AC units with the vent duct taped to the window with cardboard.... For over $200/night - I would have been more comfortable in my car!!! If you are thinking about staying here, having a wedding or conference here -... more

We stayed at the Biltmore Hotel in downtown Providence for a wedding which my fiancee was a groomsmen. We booked the room and reserved a non-smoking king room. After getting to the 7th floor of the hotel we realized we were on an entirely smoking floor and smoking room. I am extremely sensitive to smoke and get migraines so we... more

The location, as others have said, was hard to beat. It costs somewhat less than the hotels near it, so any quibbles I had are mostly academic. You want to stay in central Providence in a place that costs less than most of its neighbors, you'll probably end up here. Parking cost us a bit as well, but that might... more
