I am not familiar with Providence so went solely on TripAdvisor reviews and I was over the top impressed. This hotel is an amazing building (it was to be the Masonic Temple) that looks out over the majestic State Building. There really wasn't one flaw. Stayed over one night for the holiday weekend. No problem with an early check-in. Great front desk; concierge and valet servies. Had standard room which was very large; decor is unique to the setting however very appropriate. Lots of floor space and room enough for a love seat and executive desk, bathrrom is huge. We really enjoyed our three night stay at the Renaissance Providence Hotel! The front desk staff was very welcoming and the concierge was extremely helpful by supplying us with brochures on area attractions to enjoy. We had a beautiful room that faced the State House. Booked at the last minute after checking into (and fleeing in disgust) that hellhole known as the Biltmore. From the moment we drove up we knew we were in for a refreshing exprerience. This hotel held up to my Renaissance expectations: great service, spotless, & even a little classy. It is in the building that was to be the Masonic Temple, so the Capital is right next door & the outside is slightly impressive. My husband and I stayed at the Renaissance for two nights last weekend for a Providence College reunion and were amazed by the luxurious feel of the hotel. We paid $170 a night at a AAA rate.
