Let me say first that I loved the size of this hotel---the European feel---the central location. Many of the bellhops/valets, etc. were great in offering help w/restaurants, cabs, etc. Hemenway's restaurant is not far --- absolute best oysters, seafood. We paid in full, a month in advance, for a non-smoking room - had an email confirmation and the charge on my credit card. Upon check in I was informed that there were no non-smoking rooms available and had to stay on the smoking floor, in a smoking room. Disgusting. Only memory of that place is the stench.
