My husband and I recently spent three nights at the Stanley. I was a little apprehensive about staying there. Since its a historic hotel, I wasn't sure how comfortable it would be. We were pleasantly surprised. The room was very recently updated and comfortable. The entire experience was very relaxing. The Stanley provided a very peaceful atmosphere.

We recently stayed one night in The Stanley Hotel during our trip to Estes Park. I would have liked to stay longer, but it is pricey compared to other places in the area, and it doesn't offer the ammenities needed on a long vacation (kitchen, fridge, coffee maker). However, if you go knowing you are staying in a historic hotel,... More

My wife and I spent a very long night in the Stanley on July 1. This was among the worst nights we have ever spent in a hotel. Previously we have experienced bed bugs in Columbia, SC, a broken door lock and single bare bulb light in Lima, Peru, and a mattress that seemed to be made out of saw... More

I personally love old historic hotels and homes, buildings, and sites. I know myself well enough to also know that I like modern conveniences. That being said, I have no desire to stay in an old historic hotel that is maintaining it's historic feel (i.e. no air conditioning). However, we did walk the grounds and wander inside this old hotel... More

No air conditioning and no warning. They "had a glitch in the system" and we ended up being switched to a shoebox on the highest (hottest) floor. And it doesn't look like any of the original Shining was filmed here, which many people come here believing. The service was barely average. There is "old and charming." and there is just... More

We stayed here in July with our kids and really enjoyed it. It was kind of hot the first night, no air conditioning at the Stanley! The Ghost Tour was very interesting as well as the history of the Stanley Hotel. We loved our trip to Estes Park. If you like history and historical buildings, you will love the Stanley... More

We went up today, 8-d-2012 to have lunch, and we were very surprised that we had to pay for parking. We have been to a lot of events the last few years at the Stanley, and had an out of town guest. We were going to take the ghost tour, we were disappointed in having to pay for parking. When... More

The Stanley was every thing I thought it would be. We sort of went last minute and could only get a room for one night but we really enjoyed it. The only thing we missed out on was the ghost hunt tour from 8pm till 1am. We got lots of pictures with orbs and streaks. The hotel is really clean... More

My husband and I decided to stay at the Stanley for a romantic evening once we returned from Rocky Mountain National Park. The room was small, but cozy however there's no a/c which we didn't anticipate to be an issue. We live in hot, humid South Carolina. The room was on the 4th floor and it was stuffy when we... More

My Mom, Aunt & I came here just to check out this slice of history. You know, play tourist! First off, its $5 bucks to park. I'm miffed we had to pay it. I had hoped to walk in & be able to learn some history behind this hotel. Nope. Unless you want to pay for a tour (we couldn't... More
