The Stanley Hotel Lodge is just steps from the main hotel. It looks and feels just like the main hotel building, but it's smaller, private, quiet and just as lovely. While tourists can come and go from the hotel itself, they are not allowed in the Lodge. That's what makes it so personal and special. Our 2-room suite was quite... More

Our room was a little small but the bathroom was spacious-tub had jets. The tour of the hotel was great. Our guide Sophia dramatized the history she was telling us-no mere recital of dry facts. This is one of those places you really should experience at least once in your lifetime.

We booked at the Stanley for a fun vacation and it was great! The place is beautiful, comphy bed and just a little haunted : ) the staff was friendly, helpful and great service. We showed up with champagne and when I mentioned we didn't have a frig the guy who brought up our bags went straight out and brought us one!... More

The Stanley a beautiful hotel with majestic views and located in beautiful Estes Park. Wandering around the grounds and hotel take you back to another time, and it gorgeous. We stayed in a king room, with views of the lake. The room was very clean, the bathroom was surprisingly spacious, and the king bed was comfortable. The service is the... More

The views are just beautiful from there. The place is beautiful and the history about the place is amazing. Two years to build the place and with 300 workers with hand made tools, that is amazing back in those days. Watch the prices. If you have a dog be sure to ask them the price, they don't have that listed... More

We stayed here while on vacation in Estes Park, and I was glad we did. The hotel itself is just beautiful! The room left a bit to be desired.....very small, toilet kept glogging, and some very noisy housekeeping. But it IS after all, a hotel that is over 100 years old, so there are bound to be some inconveniences. Over... More

We chose Estes Park for our honeymoon and The Stanley was our first stop. When we arrived, we had to fight through a crowd to get to the tiny check in counter. The attendant was very polite. We checked in and went upstairs, and immediately noticed that our room was next to the stairs and it was incredibly loud (we... More

Beautiful views of the snow capped rocky mountains with the small herd of elk outside. Found out that this is where the shining and dumb and dumber was filmed but apparently it's haunted. Fantastic place to either stay or just stop for something to eat and drink.

The beds are very comfortable- not typically the case with hotels, even nice ones. Cascades restaurant has good food for the most part- some of the entrees were lacking in flavor. To retain the historical feel, there is no air conditioning in the hotel- the rooms get very warm and can remain that way through the night if you don't... More

The location is fantastic. However, when I am staying at a resort style hotel, that is exactly what I expect. The size of the room was acceptable, but the quality was lacking. For a "typical" price of $200/night on the weekend, my minimal expectation is a quality mattress. I have slept on better quality mattresses in a three star hotel... More
