Went to the Stanley Hotel after wanting a great vacation with my husband. The Stanley Hotel is a beautiful hotel but I would not recommend staying as a guest. We stayed in room 418 which was "supposedly" one of the haunted room and didn't experience any paranormal activity for the 4 nights we were there, someone writing on the mirror... More

On a beautiful day on your way to some place stop here for a bite to eat. Tell the young man at the gate you are going to have lunch. From the minute you walk into the lobby you are back in time to when the lodges were those places of true hospitality. The hotel is kept in wonderful shape,... More

Setting was great. Front desk attentive. Garden area pleasant. However..... For the price, I would have expected the following: - The condo to be clean and well maintained. The living areas were fine, but the built-in ledge was filthy. The downstairs window cranks did not work - couldn't open. The window screen was pushed out. We could not get the... More

had the great fortune to visit the Stanley Hotel with my wife and Daughter who lives in Denver. Loved the history of the Hotel and now have a better appreciation for the link between it and movie The Shining. Always thought it was filmed there but now understand the tv movie was filmed there and the Movie was in Oregon.... More

My family of 4 adults stayed for 4 nights in August. The Hotel and grounds are gorgeous. It is a historic hotel and has kept true to the decor of the period but I was quite pleased by the bright rooms and beautiful bathrooms. The Stanley Tour is very interesting and the ghost tour at night is fun. I would... More

We tried to place our reservation on line but the website was messing up so I called (we had arrived in estes Park already) jessica (front desk) invited us to come in. The place was packed but they had a room available. It was exciting to stay there. The bed was comfortable and the room while small was totally awesome.... More

This is an unusual hotel with a lot of history behind it. The grounds and the hotel are wonderful. We took the tour the hotel offers about the history and learned a lot about the hotel. Several different movies were filmed here as well as many of famous people have stayed at the hotel. The hotel is very known for... More

Amazing views inside and out. We loved the place but, the employees treated hotel guests with disregard and were often heard bikering and even yelling at each other. The tour traffic takes away from the hotel experience.

I cannot rate this hotel because we did not stay here based on poor reviews, however my husband and I drove up to Estes Park to walk around the hotel and take pictures. Could only view the grounds and walk around the lower level of the hotel. We did not take the tour either based on mixed reviews, but we... More

We reached our hotel early in the evening, the first thing we saw was the elk roaming on the hotel ground, we then stepped back to take in the beauty of this beautiful historical hotel situated in the shadow of the majestic Rocky mountains. We were in awe of the specular scenery from the hotel ground before we even set... More
