We had the wonderful opportunity to stay in four different rooms during our 4-night stay: Rooms 401, 217, 418 and 240. Activity in the haunted rooms were off the charts. Captured great EVPs and even received a slight push from an entity in room 217. Room 240 had a beautiful view of the mountain ranges. It was beyond comfortable with... More

A grand hotel build in 1909. Also the location of the film, The Shining. We joined one of the night tours, which was more of a ghost seeking experience. We did learn a lot about the history of the hotel, and saw a few places that we wouldn't have had the opportunity to experience. It's a beautiful hotel, surrounded by... More

We had a Living Social to stay here on a Sunday night in April. We upgraded so that we could stay on the 4th floor, which is supposedly more haunted. The room was clean, with beautiful old furniture. The TV plays "the Shining" movie on a continuous basis and I enjoyed watching the movie because I couldn't quite remember what... More

We were staying in Estes Park last August, 2013 and decided to take a tour of the Stanley Hotel. Our tour guide was "paraNorma." It was an interesting tour, full of fun information. There is lots of history about the hotel, which I found more interesting than the spooky stuff, but it was fun to hear about all of it.... More

My wife and I stayed at the Lodge at The Stanley Hotel for 3 nights. Loved the restored rooms! Very comfortable bed. Nice spaciousness. Great staff!!! Midge, the breakfast lady, was awesome!!! We especially enjoyed the ghost hunting event that we were there for. Go on the weekends, and purchase a ghost hunting excursion with Karl Phieffer. Highly recommended hotel!!!!

We recently spent a night at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park. The history and charm of the hotel is enough to bring people here. Some people come to experience the paranormal activity or to see the inspiration for the hotel in Stephen King's The Shining. We did not take any of the tours offered by the hotel but used... More

We only stayed one night and took advantage of an awesome groupon deal. Highly recommend taking the ghost tour and then getting out to do some exploring of your own. Rooms were clean and roomy, but warm on the third floor. Closet had enough room for a roll away bed. All staff was very friendly and hotel makes you feel... More

There are two other couples that went to The Stanley with us and we all fully enjoyed our time at The Stanley and in Estes Park. The rooms were very clean and the beds were more comfortable than what we have at home. We ate at the Cascades and had perfect service and the food was marvelous. We saw loads... More

Been to the Stanley Hotel several times, but never stayed the night to take in all the experiences the hotel has to offer. The hotel is such a different experience when you stay the night than just stopping by and walking around. First, the property and surrounding area and some of the prettiest in Colorado. The lobby brings back the... More

When you stay at The Stanley, you do not think of "The Shining"; you think of the luxury. There are certain things that cannot be changed due to the historical factor of the hotel, such as the doors and windows but you can deal with those small inconveniences. We stayed in the Lodge and the hallways were "nursing home hot"... More
