Clean comfortable rooms right by the river. Convenient to town and RMNP but in a natual setting. We have been going to Estes for the Scottish/Irish festival for the past 20 years and stay at the Ponderosa every year. It is not the Marriott and the parking is tight but it has been the perfect base for family weddings, get-away... more

This is a great option if you can only holiday in summer - it's a rated as a summer park whilst Vail, Aspen and others are spots for skiing. We actually drove up to the highest point (above 12,000 ft above sea level). A definite must-do. Go horseback riding, cycling and white water rafting. more

We decided to come back to Estes Park for one more night after leaving Grand Lake early and went looking for a place to stay. We decided to give the Ponderosa a try and wow. The woman working the desk took us around to show what rooms were available and we chose a room in the lodge right on the... more

This quaint place sits right on the river!!! We had a great time hot tubbing by the river under the stars and being lulled to sleep by the magnificent song of the river. We will be back! more

Living is southeastern Colorado, we enjoy every opportunity to travel to Estes Park and stay at the Ponderosa Lodge. It is our particular pleasure to have our daughters and their families come from other states for a visit. Included in their trip is a family gathering at the Ponderosa. Sledding and snow fun for all ages is available. Our grandchildren... more

We stayed in the Green Cabin, one of two cabins on the property, adjacent to the Fall River and just down the road from Rocky Mountain National Park. The cabin is described as rustic, which it really is. Oh, it has all of the amenities; shower, stove, TV, micro. But the place is old, the roof leaked during a downpour,... more

Depends on what you expect; We found the rooms smaller than expected. Kitchenette was small but adequate for couple days needs if you're not planning on doing much cooking etc.. Not really "rustic" in the good sense - more like average motel room. River outside balcony is nice: can hear the water and that blocks out most car noise. the... more

THis is a great place for what it is. I have found that reviews on tripadvisor are accurate, but don't describe what the property actually is sometimes. This is a bare bones little room for a good price. Our room had a balcony over the river, although that balcony is shared with 3 other rooms. It is more off the... more
