This was a nice place to stay. The BEST location you could find. In the mountains and a river in your backyard. The room was just right for two people. The carpet needed cleaning(bad stains). The price was great, but I chose the less expensive room which had a murphy bed. I should have paid a bit more for the... More

This is a great place to stay for the money. Very friendly, laid back atmosphere. It's only 3 miles from RMNP. Easy access to shopping and restaurants but not in the hustle and bustle of the main drag. The rooms were clean and homey feeling. The only downside was the parking (if you arrive late). There was a bear in... More

Our trip to the Rockies was great because we got advice from the office manager. She pointed out the perfect trails and sights for our short trip. The room had a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. There was a nice patio to have coffee on that over looked a bubbling brook. The bed was a little on the hard side... More

Beautiful area, located within 2 miles of Rocky Mountain National Park. The river is located right outside your deck door and there is a walking path which leads directly into the downtown (a few miles walk) where there are restaurants and shops. The room we stayed in, #5, is located on the ground floor with a kitchenette. There were barbecues... More

I had a cute small room with a view of the river from the balcony. Nice room upgrades were better than expected given the rustic nature of the lodge. Staff was helpful and location excellent with easy access to Rocky Mountain National Park without needing to go through Estes Park main Street. There was easy access to town, but not... More

At check-in we were told we would have to change rooms after our first night's stay. We didn't want to do that for many reasons and had not booked our room that way. The young lady at the desk was pleasant but not authorized to make changes. She asked for the manager's help (Josh, I believe). I have never been... More

This is an older hotel, but very well maintained. Because of that it has some touches you don't get anymore. River is only feet from the shared back porch (5 rooms share)--so relaxing. Each room has a fireplace and they furnish everything needed to build a fire in it--wood, pine cones (kindling), newspaper and matches. While not huge, the room... More

We loved our stay! The room was more updated than I expected, great price, loved the river being right there out our door! We also appreciated the dimmers for the lights...that way we could keep our lights on on the adult side of the room while we turned the lights out over our kids' bed!!!

I recently stayed at the Ponderosa Lodge with family members and we couldn't have been more happy with our service and the location of the hotel. The lodge is right on the river! Josh gave us recommendations of what to do and where to eat and everything he had said was fantastic! The room was cozy and clean. We couldn't... More
